So I passed on bottles of Silva Stout today (B1) because of some reports of it being off. Good choice?

From what I remember the batch 1, small bottle is the only really good one, but it's probably a few years old at least

I passed too, but the overall feedback is good with seemingly isolated reports of issues, I only somewhat regret having passed since it's a fairly pricey bottle, I'm hoping I see it on draft somewhere to get the tick but risking $20ish on a possible infected bottle is a tough call

tl;dr there's not really a wrong answer on that one, depends on your risk tolerance for a $20 bottle.

edit: I realized I'm not sure if what I passed on (recent release) is what you're referring to. If not, disregard.

Do you have fucking amnesia? I don't know if you've specifically hit @mbmiche but as a general rule your porch deserves all the punishment it gets for the forseeable future.

It was this most recent batch - large format that said B1. From what I've read, unless I'm wrong, is the "new B1" is having problems. Quite frankly distro is getting so much better here in TX that I can now pass on a BA stout, esp. pricey ones. And my risk tolerance is getting lower by the day on beers and breweries that seem to gouge $$ for mediocre beer.

 

Well why don't we save you some beer money then, all you have to do is send me your address.

I was browsing through untapped and thanks to a check in of @HoppySeb I have decided my promotion beer is going to by my cantillon gueuze 100% lambic-bio (organic gueuze) sorry if it goes by a short name but I'm not a big connoisseur of cantillon. But the celebration doesn't start until all paper work is signed off and official.

I've most commonly seen that called "Gueuze Bio", it's also the same beer as is in "Classic Gueuze"; as I understand it, one is packaged for the US and the other for Europe.
