Yea that's true. However, my wife has C sections in which she needs a little bit more help and is stuck in the hospital for at least 3 days.

I'm trying to figure out if I should assign days for each of the beers I'm sending, with some of them being high octane beers or if I should do what I did in the SWTFYW 12 Days of Xmas and leave a piece of paper with a style, size and ABV of each beer and let my target choose.

If you'd rather ME CHOOSE when you drink the beers like this post. If you don't like this post I'll assume you'd rather choose.

True, I admit it helped considerably that my wife delivered 8 hours after arriving, and was discharged 27 hours after that.

You gotta choose! I purposely loaded up @Mikexw on NYE, then did lower ABV the day after.. Also, it was cool seeing all the xmas themed beers on the the 24th/25th.

I agree, while my sender really sent some awesome stuff, I would have preferred a course set out for me. It makes it fun to see how the sender would arrange it. I also had a good time setting it up for @UTvols05

Yep, Kyle did a nice job "scheduling" me -- I think there were two beers I couldn't drink on the assigned day, but for the most part it worked. I don't know if you guys are also wrapping bottles, but the way we did it nobody knew their beers in advance either -- you'd wake up, unwrap a "present", and say "oh cool, this is what I'm drinking today/tonight".

I actually did something similar for my target -- tried to keep things more manageable on weekdays.

What???? the North and South had talks/correspondence?????

Abe and I need to talk.................speaking of which, @Dave_Treat and I remember Mr. Abe Lincoln as a young lad. We couldn't make his famous Address in Gettysburg because I had a horse stall to shovel out and IIRC Dave had to work at fixin the family cotton gin.

I just set up a pretty awesome google spreadsheet to keep track of my targets wants that I have etc. If anyone wants to use it, just send me a BM and I will send you a blank version.

For those who did not do the 12 days of xmas. Example of my (girlfriend's) awesome present wrapping!

Reread some of that thread just now... man that was a fun BIF to be a part of. Really looking forward to doing it again.
Also, @whyteboy003 sent 100lbs of beer.... I can't believe I forgot about that. WTF MAN

I did a lot of this too, though I can't really think of a July 4th themed beer besides the Yards Ales of the Revolution, and I sent those out in a box for last year's 4th of July themed BIF that I did.

I mostly plan to do mine such that high abv bombers will be on weekends and sours/ipa's will be on weekdays so that my target doesn't have to work hungover.

Unless I decide to be mean and flip that... 64oz imperial stout growlers every weekday and a 12oz sour every weekend :sunglasses:

This was my absolute favorite part, I really hope my sender does this.

I attended a bottle share on 1/2 and a mega bottle share 1/3, so from 1/2-1/5 I was either otherwise occupied or recovering and had to table those four bottles. With that said I did the 8 days of Hanukkah and a bottle on the day in between that and Christmas, so I felt like I didn't fall too short of expectations overall.

Yeah, I've been trying to think of what to do on the 4th as well.. All I've got so far is that as fine of a beer as it is, Mexican Cake would not be appropriate!

Each beer should be wrapped and poured blind. Then give us tasting notes and guess what beer it is. Finally a big reveal

If that's the case, I'm wrapping a random bottle of apple cider vinegar.

Did some scouting and my target seems like a power drinker, therefore I'll be setting him up with 750's for 12 days. :grimacing:

As I understand it, my target likes craft beer. So hint #2, I'm sending my target at least 12 bottles of craft beer.
