Hi I enjoy Killians Red and was looking for other American Amber / Red Lager that are on the malty side not the hoppy side like Nugget Nector
    Thanks

From that list I'd definitely hit up Cape Ann Fisherman's Brew, it has a really nice deep melanoidin-like backbone.

Does it have to be lagers? Irish Red Ales would also be in the same ballpark. Long Ireland's Celtic Ale is a really good version.

Lakefront RiverWest Stein Lager gets a huge recommendation from me. Amazing toasted malt profile.

Too bad it's now all but impossible to find in ATL.

Not up & up on my amber lagers, but in the spirit of some of the other posts on this thread - Rogue Capt. Sig's Northwestern Ale is a pretty malty treat.

Belfast bay's lobster ale is solid, and available in new york. Also, it's much better than the 79 rating it has on here.

Yuengling is pretty malty but a nice hop snap on the finish if fresh. If not fresh...it's caramel all the way.

Strange about the Cape Ann- I'm right across the Hudson from you guys.

I was digging the draught Roscoe Trout Town Amber at the Ducks game this past Sunday- it seemed more toasty than when I've had bottles (which leaned a bit more caramel). Still, it may also be worth a shot, no matter which format you can get.
