    fantabulous! possibly the best smoked porter i've had to date. the smoke is very 'visible' but eloquently integrated, reminiscent of a moderate to well peated Islay whisky. really not sure if the age is playing a significant role here - the back story is this was picked up recently (Costco), part of a box set that included a 2008, 2013 + 2 snifters.

    Had this for the first time last night, amazing to say the least. Smelled like A&W mixed with some Barqs. This stuff would be a crazy mixer with whiskey or rum i imagine.

    Ballast Point's Smoke Screen, an aptly named smoked helles lager. Went mighty fine with a big old freshly grilled slab of a burger.

    I had a co-worker, who's in the reserves, go to England for two weeks. Prior to him leaving, I asked him to bring me back a beer that we don't get here in the states. He is knowledgable about some beer, but not enough I guess, as he brought me a couple bottles of Old Speckled Hen. I politely thanked him for the beer, but now I'm trying to choke one down as I write this. Thanks for the effort though bro!
