I stopped trying to get it at the store, it's just too difficult. I just go to falling rock (They have it on tap a lot), or If I want a good bomber I'll buy Maharaja.

Add in Choice City and I do the same. I really don't enjoy being that guy and asking for beers at stores. If I can't find it on a shelf, I'm not going to get it- that's fine by me.

Has anyone tried Odell Barrel Thief yet? I just don't understand why you would want a barrel aged IPA, but then again, Odell usually does me right.

Funny you mention Mountain Sun because I actually had some Hop Vivant at the Vine Street location last week. That is such a good beer...it ranks way up there for me.

And I used like the other Mountain Sun hoppy beers, e.g., XXX and FYIPA (or, if I'm feeling saucy, the "FYX" or "Crippler" mixtures) but I don't drink them as much any more.

Vivant is up near the top for sure. I just can't have one, cuz then I'll have three and start to get "feely"

Mmmmm probably. I'm going to stop by and get a couple. If they are out when you stop by, PM me. I could meet you at Small Batch. I live pretty close.

P.S. - You better be a Hawks fan

Something to keep in mind with Hop Savant - it isn't necessarily sour in a traditional sense. It's just a brett IPA.
For the folks truly crazing a sour IPA or dry-hopped sour - Progenitor is the beer you seek.
That said, I love Hop Savant. All of the versions.

Honest question, is Progenitor the same recipe as Batch 60, or just similar?

Not sure. It has to be at least fairly close, though. There are a few CS employees and people in the know that drop in here and there. Maybe they can answer. I just know that I like both very much. Progenitor Noir, too.
