I will get to the updates today, but I wanted to give everyone some news. Unfortunately, Damian had to quit this site for personal reasons. I think he had one outstanding LIF (Phillies sweep) which I will delete. Otherwise, the league will run as it did before. However, we are down one good guy in here.

Detroit Brewing Company is pretty sweet. If you haven't been to a HopCat before, that might be worth it. Sarpino's over in Eastern Market for pizza.

Midtown and Downtown are safe, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in either of those neighborhoods.

Curious as to the last time you stayed in downtown Detroit Kevin?! There are definitely some places I'd avoid like the plague. That being said Detroit is absolutely in the middle of a rebirth that's not been seen in a long time, perhaps if ever in the USA. Downtown is absolutely fabulous and worth checking out. Again don't go wandering in bad areas but report back what you think of downtown @tommyguz

Sorry if it was aggressive, while I've not lived in Michigan since 2008 and never in Detroit I do consider Michigan home and hate seeing it bad mouthed unless it deserves it which for some things it does. The city is quickly becoming nicer and nicer. They are either razing and rebuilding or renovating tons of buildings starting down in the stadium area and slowly moving out from there. I honestly believe in 10 years Detroit will have made a pretty full circle recovery and 25 years will be a major destination city again.

I just wanted to make sure that if I wanted to, it'd be safe for the wife and I to stay close to the stadium and walk to and from the game. I am a bit naive when it comes to these things and never think twice about it, and honestly don't know how good or bad (or safe) Detroit is. I mean you only hear second hand accounts, when you've never been there yourself.
