Favorite Colorado IPAs?

Oh shit... Hop Savant Galaxy is releasing soon! I love me some Galaxy! Did anyone around here have it the last time they brewed it?

I was not a fan of hop chops. Seemed to be overly hoppy for hoppiness sake and was borderline undrinkable because of it. Much prefer superpower.

 

Had the Prison Bound Pale at Cannonball Creek today, fantastic. The owner said the next batch of Project Alpha #4 (the first one they've done a second batch of) will be available in a month or so

 

I've encountered diacetyl problems at Cannonball. Haven't been in 3 months or so. Sounds like they cleared it up!

 

None at all -- sorry man. Love your reviews but been going there for about 18mos -- I'm no homer, but sorry I've never had a bad sip from there

 

Yah, I was surprised. Smelled it 2 feet away. Last time it was on the Featherweight, but I chalked it up to tap lines.

 

Ughhh ... I hope it's a rare thing, I'd be bummed if they have more of those issues! :-(

 

I thankfully have not encountered these issues at Cannonball. I had the Roundabout IPA there last night, and it too was drinking great.

 

Looks like we might have a new one to add to the debate. Oskar Blues is coming out with an IPA.

If it's anything like their other hoppy options, I will try it once.

 

If they don't eff it up with Summit hops I think it will be good

 

If it's just an amped up Pinner like I expect... pass. Now if they scaled back the malt bill in G'Knight a bit and release that as an IPA, I think it would climb the list fast.

 

Sign me up for "amped up Pinner" haha. That beer is damn good IMO.

I was at 4 Noses this weekend and really enjoyed their Proboscis (100% Simcoe) APA. Very drinkable at 6% and very fresh. I'm heading to California this weekend to visit a buddy and plan on hitting up the Bruery, Stone's beer garden, Modern Times, Ballast Point, and a few others while I'm there.

 

If you have the chance try to hit up Societe, I've heard great things. Was hoping to try their Pupil at the Hops Fest last week but they weren't able to get a barrel out in time.

 

Good call Mike. Actually my friend wants to hit up Societe, Alesmith if we have time, then Pizza Port on the way back to OC. It should be a very good holiday.

Societe is a nice spot...a bit hard to find, kind of tucked away. Pizza Port Ocean Beach was great!
