It gives them more time to fill the holes in memberships.

If people are just trying to buy their way in to HS and not like the beers they buy, that is pretty silly.

They are a business. Business' submit press releases all the time. I never saw anywhere that they said Society members would be the first to hear news on how they are going to operate.

I think your missing the point here. If I'm running a business that has a particular schedule to it, you better believe I would communicate that to the actual people affected before I did an official press release. Hell, the release can even go live at the same time you send the email. It's just the right thing to do.

I'm just not going to buy any beer for a month or two to save up for renewal. Kind of a bummer but its summer time and there is always a million things going on so coming up with $700 randomly isn't exactly super easy to do.

Where did you get the impression I don't like the beer? That's a pretty silly assumption.

I been bored stiff so far this year, if I had to decide in the next two months I'll be passing my membership on to someone else to keep access when I want something.

I purchased my HS membership on 9/26 last year (1st year HS), The question is when did existing HS/RS have to renew by last year?

Having existing HS/RS members purchase by 8/30, gives them time to figure out how many spots they have open in both societies.

I renewed for this year on 10/19, so it would have been pretty late in the game for them to invite new people for vacated spots.

I'm on the fence as far as timing, but I guess they have their reasons. I'll just need to cough up the money I was going to spend anyway a bit earlier.

Ballast point has cranked out 3 without a single membership club needed for zero interest free investment.

Eh, I renewed on the absolute last day at the absolute final hour that I could under much debate. I would really need to see what the next allocation or two is to really feel like it's a direction I want to follow the company into next year with. I know a few who are completely already made up their mind that they're out.

This shouldn't be a big deal anyway. Last year it sold out in 2 hours once it hit PS. It didn't even make it to the public.

I only have the one with the little gremlin on it from last year's V@S day.
Edit: Actually not V@S day, that was a goblet, now I can't remember when I got it but it is still pretty awesome looking.

Although I do have a few PS friends that are liking the way this year is going for some RS members since they believe they will now get a shot at getting in.

I honestly think most of us will renew. Its just a bummer that we will have to shift all of this stuff around.

All of this being said, we still have not heard anything official from the bruery. This could all be wrong still.

It made it but didn't last very long after they opened it at midnight.

How did this work in the past? Do you renew for RS and then wait and see if you get the HS invite and then just pay the difference? I had assumed it was more staggered, like HS renewals first, then RS invited to HS, then RS renewals, and then PS window for RS.

You'll get an invite in the mail before memberships renewals go live on the website. I think the HS and RS windows were the same ao you could go up or stay the same.

This thread is making me question my priorities in life because renewing HS whenever I have to is high on the list for discretionary spending...

Yeah, you get the invite for HS well before the windows open. IF the July 13 date is correct, I would assume letters are going out today to notify any people about the chance to move up to HS. Then on July 13th you can buy a HS or RS membership.

If it's like last year, on Aug 30, your chance to buy HS goes away and then you can still buy RS until RS sales out.

I want HS so badly, but my wallet tells me that is a horrid idea. My girl does too. She may end it with me if I have to tell her I'm committed to $700 up front before I buy the hundreds per month after.
