I would pass on Alesmith unless you are literally lost and happen to pull into the industrial park to turn around. They had 2 beers on tap that I couldn't get out here when I went a few months ago.

take the extra time and hit Council and if in the area Belching Beaver had a few nice beers on

I had the Galaxy Hop Savant last night and HOLY SHIT! I think I like it better than the citra and for sure more than the amarillo. I finished it and immediately wanted four more. Go buy some!!!

Also, anyone know how these Hop Savants age? I've had good experience with brett IPAs in the past, and wanted to stock up on a few.

Is it available at the store or did you go to the brewery?

I too got my share of the Galaxy at Mile High. I'm normally not a Brett fan but damn is this one special!

Just tried 45th Parallel from Trinity. Quite nice and totally in the style of the Oregon IPAs I used to drink daily, but I'm not sure why I wouldn't just buy the real thing for $1 more and get another 10oz.

What's an Oregon IPA? A la Boneyard, Barley Brown's? Or Deschutes/Rogue/Laurelwood/etc? New term for me...

If it's anything like the Boneyard that Hops and Pie had on tap a couple weeks ago I want it!

They were really going for Breakside/Boneyard/Barley Browns. It tasted like a great ripoff of the Breakside IPA that won gold at GBTA.

I felt like it was more like RPM, which wasn't there.

Soon every region will have it's own IPA style moniker and the GABF will become the GAIPAF. Except CO of course, because none of ours are any good. It'll be like "Detroit-style pizza" all over again!

But we have the classics that started it all.... kinda.

Odell IPA & Myrcenary, Avery IPA & Marahaja, NB Ranger, Modus Hoperandi, Dry Dock DIPA, Oskar Blues Dales Pale all classics C-hop IPAs that was/is our niche, it's just our breweries never picked up any Citra or Mosaic until Comrade/S26/Backcountry and unfortunately only one of those breweries bottles/cans.... kind of hard getting our name out there for IPAs when the best ones are brewery only and/or extremely limited.

I was 1/2 joking about that long-ass thread where people complained that we had no good ones yet hadn't tried (m)any either.
