Talk about bad timing. I think they've only been out of it for something like 5 days total since they opened.
All of their beers are top notch (especially the hoppy ones), so even in those rare instances you usually have other options.

So... I sucked down a couple of glasses of Honeyman Five last night after getting home. I found it to be pretty damn amazing, though I personally prefer IV.

@dauss Are you guys trying to perfect Honeyman and stick with a recipe, or are we going to be talking about Honeyman XXXVII being the best yet in a couple of years?

They wont have the 20L available until next year. I spoke to one of their owners yesterday. The demand for Superpower is too high right now to sell outside wholesale.

I'll be in Colorado soon & have been following this thread with interest. Thanks to all for bringing up a bunch of stuff I've never heard of before & am looking forward to trying!

Anyone else tried the Moirai IPA from Fate Brewing? I wanted to get peoples takes on it, I find it to be quite good, maybe not to the level of Superpower and AP #4 but I would say it sets itself apart from many others as being a really good IPA.

I don't think that's even possible. It's brewery only and no growler fills. MN law.

It wasn't that they were out but something was up with their keg lines and Superpower was pouring nothing but foam, so they decided not to serve it.

It was the day after they had tapped Hop Chops for the first time, so not all was lost!

Keep it in your mouth on the flight? hahaha

Honestly though, it's not brewery only, I know because I drank my weight in Todd at a bar in Saint Paul  No clue about growler fills in the state though.

I thought I read somewhere that MN passed a law allowing growler fills on Sundays? (I honestly could have dreamt that however)

As @WingsAndBeer72 said, there's is a waitlist. It'll be available near the end of 2016. We're going to go through the entire waitlist whenever we have extra.

The Honeyman series is our R&D IPA. The hops will rotate and it will be our test bed for trying out the numerous new varieties of hops that are being released. Hopefully there will be a Honeyman XXXVII

The MN law has to do with size of brewery. Smaller brewers might do growlers, but Surly can't.

I admit, I had to look this up, news to me! Great news! They have it canned, but I don't think it's out in stores until next week, rumor at Surly was 7/27 or 7/29. Although I guess there has been a can spotted in the wild this week.

Yup & yup. I guess I'm going to miss the first canning of Todd next week, so I'll have to drown my sorrows in fine Colorado IPAs!

Took home a sixer of Escape To CO last night. Had it on tap before and it seemed to have more hop attack.
Not that I'm complaining, mind you... it's a hell of a slammable can for the backyard in summer.
