I wasn't talking about money, just dealing with the #*%&show of mules and people trying to cheat the system while complaining about bottle limits.

i'd argue that outside of a small fraction of dweebs on here and a few other places, most people don't give a shit about mules or people trying to skirt bottle limits.

    it's drastically overblown on here.

Thanks for your kind words. I'd point out that we had Nocturn Chrysalis, which we think is a better, more drinkable beer than Atrial Rubicite, available to go for five weekends in a row not long ago.

That's another reason, by the way, we made less Atrial this year. We like Nocturn better.

No. We anticipate blending and bottling our first batches of spontaneously fermented beer this winter.

Shouldn't you know by now the more undrinkable the beer is the more people want it? That's why no one lines up for a pilsner, which makes me happy

Ive heard rumors of a Biere de Syrah with Syrah Grapes. Not sure how true that is though. That could be the smaller bottles. Just a guess.

My main trader is out of Texas and sends me all the great Jester King beer that are made. I'm excited for every box I receive and more so I appreciate the care jester King puts towards each of their beers and customer base. Cheers to that.

So rather than at least try and cater to the giant hoards of people that love Atrial and enjoy that beer, which numbers and ratings (ratings with a grain of salt I'm aware) show is the mass populations much preferred beer, you would rather ignore the customer base and just do what you like better?

I'm not saying you shouldn't brew Nocturn or that you need to always be in the process of making Atrial, it just seems that you would make the effort to satisfy the desire of your customer base.

I think JK has been pretty clear here that they make what they like. And personally, if I owned my own business that would be ideal. Do what I enjoy, make the product I want and still sell it all. Sounds pretty good to me.

Uh, they are about to release 2,400 bottles of Atrial. They could have brewed none.

Like @TexasBeerGuy said, JK brews the beer they want to brew, not the beer that's the trendiest or gets the best ratings.

Thank you for stating the obvious that really helps the conversation. I'm aware the amount they are about to release. A significant dip from the last time. Atrial is a nationally lauded beer that people love. Yup a business can do whatever they want, I'm just surprised with how "connected" to beer lovers that JK is that they wouldn't take that into consideration.

I personally think I like Aurelian Lure the best out of all of sours. Happy to see there will be a good amount of that this year. They'll never make enough Atrial to satisfy everyone. I think it would be even better (as far as letting more people try it) if they held back a good amount of bottles of Atrial (and some of the other upcoming sours) for on site consumption only at the brewery.

In theory they could devote all of their sour beer production to Atrial, but then it wouldn't be hard to come by and people wouldn't care anymore. It's their brewery and they can make what they feel like, if breweries only catered to what the majority of people want we would only have IPAs and light lagers.

So which breweries make their brewing decisions based on what others want? People love KBBS - has that led to more being produced? Side Project makes great beers that people love, but I don't see them jacking up batch size to accommodate what customers want. West Ashley batches are still pretty damn small. Etc etc

Seems to me that every brewery makes what they want, so I'm not sure why you're acting like this is something unique. Perhaps there's even a reason this batch is smaller that you're not aware of, because you don't work at the brewery.

What you should do is go and rate this batch of Atrial a 1, without even tasting it. That will show them!!

You know what pisses me off? That it's going to be 105+ with the heat index. Since we're on the wagon of telling Jester King what to do I'm going to add my sentiments. Can you please release this in the fall? :grinning::sunglasses:

So let's break down this statement...

    1. Yes the new batch of KBBS that will be made will be bigger
    2. SP batches are getting bigger
    3. West Ashley releases multiple times a year

In terms of your hilarity of the Atrial comment
    - If you're trying to make a Snorkel jab, I did try it before ever giving it a rating regardless of rating
    - If you're going to be a smartass at least give some facts... You can't rate different batches of Atrial on BA. It's all the same rating

I didn't say they should only make Atrial. I'm surprised that the batch is so small that's all. As for only having IPA's and Light lagers that directly contradicts your previous statement.
