Thank you for the response, while I don't agree with it. I respect the opinion and standing by it.

You're gonna stand there, ownin' a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistlin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser? ... Well that might be your problem, it's not what you like, it's the consumer.

The biggest question is if they'll have Brash EZ7 on tap this weekend. I bet it kicks before Atrial.

Personally I feel like many of us take these guys for granted. When I heard it was 2500 bottles I was a little bummed too. After all I, like most of you, LOVE Atrial. However, I don't AT ALL feel like they have done me some disservice or caused me any grief by making less Atrial. After all, they pump out a crazy amount of beer already and have done nothing but add more fruited sour's to the mix as well as some very interesting 750's. If anything I'd say that they are doing a great job of keeping their customers happy. Shit, 2 years ago we had Atrial, Noc, AL and O&P and only Atrial was multiple batches and the other 3 were tiny batch sizes and not that great IMO. Now we're getting multiple batches of all of the fruits and they seem to keep getting better.

I mean, what more can you really ask for?

    Don't say "more Atrial" :grinning:

My point is that they can never make enough Atrial to satisfy demand. However, until consumer demand gives them a reason to make more they don't have to. By consumer demand I mean money. If people stop buying their other beers and demand more Atrial then they might change, but right now they are in the position to where they can brew whatever they want and however much of it they want and they'll sell everything. The money influx isn't changing for them so why should they change?

My personal desire for more Atrial will subside once that Fen Tao hits.

Also lets not beat up this guy too much. After all, you did ask them for an answer to a question that they already answered in the actual post that you quoted. That didn't help the conversation either.

I was asking for them to expound on the question, they decided not to. They did acknowledge the question however so I appreciate that. Winky faces don't eliminate snide comments

Yeah and I doubt that ever becomes the case. I know plenty of people who don't like Atrial as the best sour. Actually most of my friends would probably prefer MvB, FenTao or AL over AR.

Breweries nominally increasing batch size or releasing multiple batches does not prove that they are doing so solely because such and such beer is the customers favorite. There is no correlation.

You failed to address the most important point from my original post, however, so I quoted it here again. There are lots of other considerations that go into what to make, when to make it, and how much to make beyond just what might be highest rated on beer websites. I'm sure their decision was not based on solely one factor.

Unless you're trying to act high and mighty with inside information you saying that doesn't change anything. JK has always been forthright when issues have happened

Not sure how I'm acting high and mighty, and I'm not operating based on any "inside informaton." I'm simply pointing out something that you seem to have failed to consider in your original post when you said :

Your assumption is that they should have made a larger batch to cater to the hoards, or that they were intentionally ignoring their customers, but there are likely other reasons the batch is the size that it is. Rather than assuming, you could have just asked, because as you said, they're pretty forthright.

I live in Dallas and am not happy with their bottle limits, high prices and lack of distro. But you know what? Nobody is forcing me to buy JK either. Plenty other good beers out there yet to be discovered and overhyped.

For this part at least in SP case it is a correlation. They want more customers to get their beer especially the ones that have been hits (Fuzzy, Derivation, etc) Cory has said as much

Precisely my point. They just can't make enough beer to ever satisfy the market and we all know people won't stop lining up to buy everything they put out.

Keep in mind they have a fixed production capacity and will sell out whatever they produce rather quickly. This is why there is little incentive to pander to market demands. I'm guessing they're not likely to increase their overall production capacity or distribution either since small, high quality batches for locals is their strategy.

I think more and more people are going to have to come to grips with how people choose to run their business. Russian River has been battling this for year. People yell at them for more Pliny, more Beatification, more FfaC, more Younger... They very frankly say, we're running the brewery as we choose too. We're not going to expand, we're not going to distribute more. Sorry if you don't like it.

JK is feeling the growing pains of this. Terrible problem to have being a small high demand brewery!

    Cheers!
