I think that sounds awesome! I'm actually a big fan...but after getting butterbombed Summerbright and Well Built I've been scared to buy anything lately. I've been hopeful the new digs would get things back on track.

Has anyone been to Great Frontier Beer in Lakewood? I had no idea it existed, but noticed it next to my daughter's daycare.

They seem to specialize in Gluten Free beer which is a big red flag for me, but thought I would ask here first.

Wha? When did that get there. Close to my house, never heard boo about it. Are they open? Their web site is...not very telling.

Nice to see Lakewood getting some more breweries. Between this one, Caution, and...another one I know of going in the area...it's getting on track to be a nice destination area.

Missed the edit window...checked their Facebook page, and they're saying August opening is what they're hoping for.

    What is the other one?

Also, crazy about them opening in August. I just looked in a back window when dropping my daughter off and saw the steel pots and a week later saw the sign.

Sent you a BM. I have a vested interest so don't want to pimp in this thread.

I think Westfax is coming a bit down the road.

    ...and is Ironworks still around?

    I'll look into Westfax...

Regarding Ironworks, I always write it off as Iron City  It's also further from my Lakewood home than other breweries to the east and south so I forget it exists

Ironworks is still around. I live right by it so I go in occasionally. I think they are starting to work on making some better beers lately, still nothing amazing though.

I used to work near Ironworks, and went there occasionally (10+years ago). I thought the beer was good. IMO, beer doesn't have to be 'amazing' to be good. Most of the time after work, I'd rather have a good beer than an 'amazing' beer.

The Fire Water Pale Ale at Ironworks is "very good"

Finally stopped in to Two22, nice guys all solid beers. Nothing they had on wow'd but everything was good. The Coffee Porter was the best of the bunch. Apparently just a mix of regular and hazelnut beans they got from Sprouts.
I'm not in that area often, but next time I am it'll definitely be added in to my Dry Dock trip.

Not sure how I missed this the last few times I went, but Mockery has a garage/shed out front with unlimited and free Buck Hunter, NFL Blitz, NBA Jam and shuffleboard????

Some BA Yeti at great divide's barrel bar the other night followed by Mockery's grapefruit zest pils and some seriously contentious games of NFL blitz made for a great night.

I might be able to hock a loogie from Great Divide's new barrel bar to Mockery's parking lot. It would have to be one mega loogie though with a pretty damn generous wind gust, but for real it's stupid close. With Crooked Stave across the street and NBB moving in next door that part of town is silly times.

Stopped into Mockery last weekend and had their Barrel Aged Dark Ale. Memory don't fail me now - a blend of their coffee stout and vanilla porter aged in a Fireside whiskey barrel? Dammit, it was so good!

Almost forgot to mention that I went by the new St. Patrick's location beside Lucille's in Littleton.
They have a bunch of different beers (all are lagers or hybrids) and they were generally pretty good. Some of the German'ish examples were a bit on the hazy side, but they tasted from fine to good. No butter, green apple, or strong sulfur in anything.
If you're in that area, I'd most definitely drop in. If not, it can be a fun stop on the way to the Alamo or the Melting Pot.

Excellent. Rally the troops (any and all), pick a day and time and then email us at [email protected] and we'll get it all set up. Once we have a day/time, we'll post it here, everyone is invited!
