Cheers to Carson St. Deli in Pittsburgh for always having a unique and vast selection of brews on tap and in bottles. And also for making exceptional food. One of my favorite places to be.

Uggh, brew day cancelled for today, found out my thermometer on the fritz, just got back from LHBS and town, too hot to start now. Freedom Pale Ale will be brewed tomorrow AM, early. Not too hot for a great beer though. Cheers!

Ithaca Beer has just released their country pumpkin! For me what makes a good pumpkin ale is the lightness of the beer based on abv. There are heavier pumpkin beers like weyerbacher's imperial pumpkin and lighter ones like Ithaca beer's country pumpkin. Diacetyl is allowed in the pumpkin ale and it's presence is the source of great debate and compunction between lover's of this particular ale. As for me . . . I don't mind it . . . in the right amount . . . in this style beer. Ithaca uses magnum hops and those are floral. For me it's the cinnamon and spices that have to be light in this beer as well. If I remember right, last year ithaca had a bright taste of ginger on a dry pie crust, with the nutmeg dominant not cinnamon , and a good taste of actual pumpkin although they used puree, as well. Happy Hump Day! My beautiful, loving and thoughtful wife got us tickets yesterday to The Great American Beer Fest in Denver for our anniversary. Then we both had to work but the boy spent the night at my mom's so had brews when we got home and watched Friends.

Opened this one for me while she had a Coors Light, luckily her's was old and got dumped and she liked this one so took it over while I moved on to the next two (thought it was bourbon barrel aged when I dropped $20 on it, still good I just don't really like Belgians)


these two are more my style, love the Moa and can't see why it has such a low rating on here, tried for months to get ahold of the Lagunitas and finally did, best Imperial Stout big bottle I've ever had for $6 and thats with an extra dollar jack up from the bottle shop
