According to its Facebook page, Life's Too Short is not opening today as originally planned. The post implies that the brewery did not pass an inspection. At least that makes the choice of which new brewery to visit this weekend easier.

This looks like a pleasant place to put back a pint or five.

Stopped by Spilled Grain last night. It was pretty busy as to be expected at a new place. They had 5 taps running: IPA, Stout, Kölsch, ESB, and a cider. I tried each one. For a new operation, they were all done fairly well. I'd say the IPA was my favorite, but I would drink any of them again.

I liked the vibe in the taproom too. Since it's not too far south of I-94, it wasn't out of my way to swing by on the way to the lake. It's worth a stop if you're ever passing through the area. Cheers!

    Here's a long-awaited update on a 'heritage' BIP.

It's "National Hotdog Day" (who knew?), and Flat Earth's taproom is open at long last, too!

Free hotdogs 'til they're gone.

I was going to that and I completely forgot about it. Sorry to let you down Chaz:wink:. Did not know they had to form another company to open this new taproom. The intricacies of MN liquor laws:rolling_eyes:.

Lucid always keeps things interesting. One brewing company, four brewing company names (Lucid, Hudson, American Sky, Inbound). Indeed, Insight, Inbound... What's next? I nominate "Inlake."

Life's Too Short (LTS) update from yesterday: "For those who can't wait to get their hands on some LTS brews we have kegs for sale at Northwest Liquors [in Rochester]!" https://www.facebook.com/ltsbrewing

Lupine update from yesterday: "Couple weeks!" from opening day for its taproom in Delano. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lupine-Brewing-Company/1412731888977816

Lucette WoodFire Eatery in Menomonie, WI (Lucette Brewing Company's taproom and pizza restaurant) softly opened to the public yesterday. https://twitter.com/lucettewoodfire

    Keep 'em coming!

In non-beer news I'm told that Tattersall opened their Cocktail in NE Minneapolis. 1620 Central Ave NE puts them close to Indeed. Anyone been there yet?

Inbound is a bad name for a new brewery in MN. Too similar to Indeed and Insight and Northbound.

No kidding. They should have went with Brown Hall, Swirly or Shells Brewing.

Northbound filed sued for copy right infringement over the 'North' in Northgate. I don't see why they wouldn't file one over the 'bound' in Inbound.

When did that happen? Do you have a link? I'm curious. (Nevermind... I found it).

Urban Forage Winery & Cidery announced that they finally began construction this week. They'd originally hoped to be open this past Spring. Obviously, things haven't gone as planned. They haven't posted a new planned opening date yet.

Not sure whether or not I agree with you -- mostly I do.

On the other hand, there is not a concurrently-running thread which also includes such developments as:

    - New Minnesota Craft and/or true Micro-Disterilleries.
    - New Minnesota Craft and/or true Micro-Cideries.

The above have both been championed by other users, and though they may be better-suited to designated threads, they have been so far included here without much finger-wagging.

    Likewise:

    - New taprooms and/or new taprooms at long-running western Wisconsin breweries*
    - New Minnesota-based Craft Soda Pop Manufacturers. There's a lot of interest in this, but no dedicated thread.

As to the latter I volunteer this much:

Minnesota has many Craft Soda manufacturers (POP to @mjryan), and Whistler Soda is probably the newest:

There's also Spring Grove and Glewwe's Castle. Just for those of you keeping track of such things.

*Lucette, Furthermore, Rush River, Dave's BrewFarm, and Oliphant all qualify as pertains to the Wisconsin by-way-of Minnesota knock-on respect. Frankly, these breweries are ignored in the much larger and more active Great Lakes forum. Pity that they are ignored, but insofar as these forums are concerned, it is the way that the cookie crumbles.
