Last night was last call for beer and fried chicken at The BSide.

After roughly a year in business, and despite having a killer tap list and highly buzzed about fried chicken, owner Justin Lloyd said that they just couldn't make it work, so he opted to close with a smile and have a final night with friends and family. And quite a few local industry folk came out to support it, which was really cool to see.

I wish Justin and the entire crew nothing be the best.

See you at Star Bar ...

Wow. That's too bad. After Uptown Brothers I'm wondering if chicken & beer is a curse. Hopefully the Post can make it work.

That sucks, one my favorite neighborhood spots. I guess I should have been going more often.

Been meaning to make it out there, but with so many new joints opening in the last year just never happened. Bummer.

Supposedly The Post is signed up to build a second location at the Stanley Marketplace in Stapleton/Aurora.

"GoodBird Kitchen, part of the Big Red F Restaurant Group, and Rosenberg's Bagels & Delicatessen are the first to be announced.

GoodBird Kitchen will be a smaller, streamlined version of The Post Brewing Company in Lafayette, which is known for its fried and rotisserie chicken, local farm fresh sides, and homemade pies."

They had me with "Stapleton/Aurora." Very much looking forward to that.
Still sad about BSide, though. Hopefully he didn't lose too much on that.

That's too bad. I always loved B-Side and their fried chicken. I was just drinking beer there the other day commenting on how it seemed like there were never all that many people there. I'm sad to see it go.

What a fucking shame. This business, it makes you throw your hands up sometimes.

Me too, kicking myself. Went a couple times last fall, then nothing until June, though I have been in 4 times in June and July.

Was actually planning to meet my wife there after work this evening.

Always had a good beer list, but it always seemed empty when I went. Loved that back patio area.

Bummer. Solid taplist and pretty good, albeit overpriced fried chicken. I bet one of the things that sunk them was the service. Damn, that service was awful.

Sucks. Is this perhaps a sign that Denver is reaching maximum carrying capacity for taphouses?

heard about this last night and was shocked. the service was AWFUL, but the beer selection and chicken were great. I guess they weren't trendy enough like their next door neighbors (not Denver Bicycle Cafe).

To be fair the place next door, The District, makes some solid food. I've only been there once but that place is always packed for good reason.

I have only been for the great concept of bottomless brunch..... so I guess I cannot judge a book by it's overcrowded patio
