It just tasted muted to me. I have this problem with most lower ABV stouts though.
When I order coffee it's always dark roast with a shot, so who knows.

Also, there's time when BB PB stout is really good to me, and times when it's "meh". Maybe I need to boycott stouts for awhile and then try it again.

They're right on my way home from work, I may have to stop there tonight.

Does anyone know what ever happened with LA Aleworks? Have not heard a thing from them in months.

    Didn't care for the Pasty
Stopped in the other night on way to Deep Purple concert at Pacific Amphiteather. Had the Iron Curtain and their new Triple Thunder or something like that. (DIPA). Better than my first visit several months ago.
I didn't care for the Patsy the first time I had it. Way too much coconuts for me. Don't care for regular coconuts but don't mind it in my stouts. But they overdo it for my taste. Had their pork sandwich also. Pretty good.

Speaking of coconut beers, Smog City's mai tai hoptonic ipa is great. They have it on tap every once in a while.

I thought the Patsy was more Hawaiian Tropic than beer.

I haven't been to Barley Forge since they first opened, I thought their beers were okay but nothing special. Have they become much better since then?

It always tastes like gross articial peanut flavor to me.

I've had those issues too. First time I had it at a restaurant I thought it was meh but when I had it straight from the brewery it turned into something great.

They were serving soda at the L.A. beer week opening event. So hmm, yeah. I guess they're in the limbo like other kickstarter funded breweries like that L.A. River Brewery.

Breweries make a lot of noise when they start up, but it's very common that they silently go into the night like, for example, Skyscraper brewery.

Sure hope they're better than Mumford. With an IPA name like Nose Job, that thing better be dry hopped to hell.

Had Boomtown at the burgers and beer festival. Had a Belgian White ale and a hoppy red. both were solid enough.

Yep, they were pouring at the LA Beer Week Fest. The 2 beers I tried were solid.

I didn't love the Patsy because of its thin body and even thought, "Man this would be great on nitro." So I guess I need to go try that now.

Mumford is better than Angel City, DTLA is in need of quality breweries. High hopes for Boomtown
