The OC/LA release thread.

Can't wait for Mocha Machine. I hope they made a bunch, so they can distribute for people who can't take the day off. These guys not only make killer beer, make great food, but are nice people as well.

 

Yeah I'm hoping some Mocha Machine makes it into the wild as well. I doubt I'll be able to go there tomorrow.

 

There's always Whole Foods Long Beach, which seem to get even the limited brewery only bottles the next day.

 

Also stearns, but its a week later at least for these type of releases generally.

 

More malty than hoppy, it tastes more like a rye IPA or a wheatwine. I'd say try it for the novelty even if you end up not liking it.

 

Doesn't fuckin matter. Pizza Port Dusk Till Dawn is always on tap down here in San Clemente. Better beer. Better price. ($5)

 

I remember it still being $12 last year. There were about 25 people in line when it went on sale, but the bottles lasted for a few hours if I remember that part correctly.

 

If I remember, Beachwood said they added more tanks or something early this year and able to bottle more? It'll sell out but hopefully make it last longer.

 

Hammered Satin was pretty good, but i dunno about that horrible coffee @the_trystero used. I dont know how this guy makes a living roasting coffee.

 

yeah, i want to send Hello, LA to my non LA friends. I guess I'll have to go the growler route. Still afraid since the one and only time I've had a shipment break was when I sent a growler (of vietnamese speedway no less)

It'd be nice if HPB had the Hill Farmstead-style 750 ml flip tops. I've never had any issue shipping those, but I've never felt confident shipping any other format. Maybe they're available online someplace? Hello LA deserves to make it to whoever you're shipping it to unbroken.

 

Average price should be $7.99.

 

Although this batch is pretty nice, $9.50 for a bomber of IPA is an instant pass.

 

Went to pick up more bottles of Raised Eyebrow today and while they didn't have Hammered Satin, they did put BA Griffith on tap.

 

I've never shipped a growler, though I have had a couple 32 oz. screwtops (from the Other Half in Brooklyn) shipped to me. One arrived with a slight chip in the cap, and the other was fine. Beer was turned out well, though probably lost a little something en route, I'm sure.
