Cloudwater Old Garde Biere de Garde (collab with Burning Sky) - very decent, didn't touch the sides
Fallen Platform C (again) - still very good but I think it's just past it's prime, which makes sense as the first one was from the same batch but almost a month fresher

Another day in Edinburgh, so ended up in the stockbridge tap for a couple. Pilot house and a porter by another brewery.

    Baltika Porter 6
    Aldaris Porteris

Popped into a place called European Food Stores locally. Had a large range of Eastern European beers which I could barely read the labels, let alone what they were like. Picked these 2 as Baltic Porters. Neither were shoddy.

I had the aldaris porteris in Latvia last year, one of the better offerings from a fairly lacklustre local scene there.

Curious what you didn't like about the Lag. I had a chance to visit the brewery this summer in California and the beers were exceptional.

Just tasted like a poorly crafted beer, can't say much more than that.

Jever and Saison Dupont for me tonight

I think saison Dupont is probably one of my top "under £2 a bottle" drinks .

I stopped off in wholefoods so got some other beers too, a couple of kernel - london porter and india stout, some de molen beers and more dupont

Given recent inactivity it seems the UK Forum has primarily been reduced to just this thread. Hardly surprising considering recent trends on social media and the hamfisted decision to stick the forum away out of obvious sight. Can't see much room for recovery frankly.

Sadly I think the eu forum as a whole is fucked

I guess they looked at the number of site hits from europe as a whole, saw that it was declining and dumped everything in together.

It'll just decline even more, which is a shame as this is one of the biggest beer sites in the world along with RB and untappd . And it should be, if anything, promoting european beer drinking

    Youngs Hummingbird x 2
    Youngs London Stout
    Youngs Double Chocolate Stout
    Anchor Steam Beer

Anchor certainly the most unusual in terms of taste but the Hummingbird I really liked. Nice fruity golden ale.

Cheddar Ales Crown and Glory – Excellent, but a 'SERIOUSLY HOPPY BITTER' it was not.

Numbers must be in real decline. And the old stalwarts who have left recently is quite telling.
It is symbolic not just of this site but of these types of sites in general. Social media is the way forward and a place where you will find many former BAs who continue to push the beer boundaries.

Fallen Caramel Chew Chew for me - it's okay, subtle but perhaps too much so. Definitely thin, bordering on watery.
Also had a few pints of East Laaaandaan Brewery's Foundation Bitter at the pub - decent stuff, a nice dark bitter.
