I guess people must have differing opinions on things. Weird.

You mean to say that your palate and my palate actually differ? No way.

To say Heady Topper, Lunch, and all of Tree House beers are mundane or nothing special...yet the standard bearer of a great IPA is Head Hunter. There's a time when "opinion" and "being wrong" don't intersect.

I'm just wondering as to why it is that if someone has a differing negative opinion on whatever beer that they are most often asked to give an explanation as to why they feel that way whereas whenever someone says beer X is great or on point or whatever it just seems to be universally accepted.

Do you have a list of any other beers that I just have to believe are great?

I'll reach for Head Hunter over Heady every single time and I really enjoy Heady. Stop being a pretentious douche bag.

Just IPAs or other styles as well?

I would say the same to you.

I love heady topper. And am loving head hunter. especially the 24hr old batch at Mad Mex. Personally I'd probably reach for a heady, but that's also probably due to it being what I know and it being a beer that started my enjoyment of craft beer. both are good IMO though. But I see them as two different beers, not necessarily out of greatness, but style, taste, availability, etc.

Because I like Head Hunter and don't buy into the hype machine? I like you Phil but you're not coming off too well here. I'm giving an opinion that's been backed by every single person that I shared these beers with and you're chastising me for it.

Both are great. Both are VERY different though. It's a matter of what style you prefer.

Naturally I want the entire list of all beers that I have to believe are great. You can save some space by leaving the entire Roundabout catalog off if you like.

There's always a group mentality too I think where everyone always miraculously tastes the same stuff when sitting down together....wonder how it would have faired individually

@shuggy I'm not sure how your question spawned from what I said... But let me try to explain my thought process and why some of the "criticism" in this thread tends to annoy me personally.

I find it irritating when people say "X beer is awful". I've been guilty of saying that in the past at times I'm sure, but I'm trying to cut that out as to me it almost seems arrogant to convery criticism in that form. It's as if the opinion of the person who's giving it is so superior that if they don't like the item in question, it must be bad. That's not to say that you're not allowed to dislike a beer or a spirit or whatever, but just because you don't like it (using the universal "you"), that doesn't mean the product is necessarily bad.

I personally strongly dislike Two Hearted. A LOT of people love it, so it clearly isn't awful or doesn't suck, it's just not for me. Taste is always going to be subjective and you can always find someone who dislikes a product no matter how great the majority is of people who enjoy it.

Just my opinion though. People are obviously free to continue to convey their opinion however they please.

2h, heady, HH and TH IPAs are all delightful. You boneheads are splitting hairs.

For me, edge goes to hh due to availability and freshness factors...but all these beers are expertly crafted...c'mon now.
