It was good last year, I was salivating over that list last night!

Day off work has resulted in enjoying a nice fresh pint of Kernel Pale Ale Centennial in The Hudson. Couldn't be hard to that. Might follow it up with a trip to The Woodworkers for a wee beer flight.

Ended up in a German café having wiener würst and kartoffelsalat with a stein of helles. Overlooking the Thames at Richmond, beautiful.

@Zimbo , when I was in Edinburgh I walked past the Innis&Gunn place but didn't go in as I didn't have time. Have you been in and is it any good? Obviously for beers other than their own which I can pass on

Had some Founders Big Luscious, being a Founders fan I was really looking forward to it.
But frig it is sweet, sickeningly so.

A brace of Oakham Ales, Box Steam Derail Ale and an old Sadlers Hop Bomb which has held up remarkably well.

4 cans of bass, 2 big bottles of kingfisher and a bottle of rioja last night. Never been so relieved to have a day off. I need to stop drinking so much crap.

    Cloudwater Simcoe Hopfen Weisse
    Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier
    Robinsons Old Tom with Ginger
    Batemans Mocha
Wiper and True Triptych No 3
    Oakhams Citra

Loved the Cloudwater, well balanced citrus hops with malty backbone. Followed it up with my favourite Weissbier. Triptych very feisty as it was well out of date, boozily better for it, but just mind your carpets !!!

Trip to Valhalla's Goat, Glasgow, bought...

Hitachino Nest - Pale Ale, strange almost green tea flavour from this Japanese beer.
Anchor Saison - Spring Ale, wonderfully subtle Belgian style from Anchor.
Funnel Blower - Dark Vanilla Porter, nice light vanilla overtones from this dark ale.
Drygate - Crossing The Rubicon, 6.9% IPA, ruby and full of flavour.
Lagunitas - Czech Style Pils, saw on the previous page that a poster didn't like this, I did.
Williams Bros. - Profanity Stout, still my fav dark Williams Bros. beer.
Orkney - Dark Island Reserve, Dark Island matured in Orkney Whisky casks for 3 months takes what is a great ale anyway, to another level. Deeply dark, flavours of roast malt, dark chocolate, slight sweetness and obviously whisky from the cask. 10% and definitely a sipping ale.

cheap macro lager has more going on
    it is watery thin
prime contender for world's worst beer

Got a sizeable tax return so I've been spending like a twat. On a whim I splashed out on some Westy 12 from Belgium in a Box. I was just curious as the only one I'd had before was a bit too aged for my liking. It is unequivocally hands down the finest beer I've ever had.

I jest. In fact I don't rate it that much at all. It's like a cross between St Bernardus Abt 12 and Chimay Blue, and only slightly better than the latter. To be fair though Gulden Draak has ruined my Belgian palate. That was just diabolical.

It very might well be the Westy talking but I very strongly feel that Belgian beer is over-appreciated.
