Hi everyone, as mentioned earlier I will be in pittsburgh in 2 weeks for Steelers-49ers. I know this is slightly off topic but I am staying in Shadyside. I will be there Saturday-Monday. Do I need to rent a car or can I rely on uber, taxis, etc.

Uber will probably serve you well. Taxi service in Pittsburgh sucks.

This. Don't rely on taxis unless you are camping out at the Omni William Penn.

I would not rent a car in city limits. Uber and Lyft should be solid.

I bought 18 pallets of it to turn into a fort on Halloween in case the dead rise and I need to reinforce the walls/doors or if there's girls dressed as ****ty versions of every day occupations in need of some alcoholic drank. Possibly both!

Went to Waterworks MD on Friday, Scuplin was $13.99 and $11.99 during happy hour for a growler. Returned On Saturday to fill a second growler and the price had been raised to $16.99. It had been priced incorrectly, bummed me out.

Pretty sure Drake was talking about Pittsburgh in his song Energy. So I think Uber would be the best bet.

Am I reading that advertisement correctly? Is the food free?

Kick ass if so, but if not, no biggie. Point Brugges is awesome and pairing a nice BA stout with their waffles is a match made in heaven.

@jeevo Yes, it is free...and delicious. No knock on them, but it also isn't an all-u-can-eat type off thing. Think along the lines of a nice pairing with your first beer or two.

Thanks for the heads up Greg. Surprising news to me that it was set up this way.

That said, Fall weather, CBS, and Belgium waffles. Every time I try to take a break from the beer world, no matter how short that break is, I always get sucked back in.

Have you guys tried Costar Brewing? I had their IPA (or pale ale?) at Shiloh Grill yesterday afternoon, and it was phenomenal. They said they got the keg and it wasn't labeled, so they weren't even sure what beer it was. It smelled super fresh, tasted citrusy and fruity, and it pretty murky/hazy.

I just had Helltown Sherry Barrel Barleywine at Harris Grill. It was awesome, really great.

Went to East End tonight and they had a whole lot of nothing on.

Wish I would have known about the Harris thing.

At least I snagged a 120 from Shadyside MD

I've had Costar IPA and DIPA at Shadyside Mad Mex and Sq Hill Independent Brewing, respectively. Both times were enjoyable. Similar impressions as to yours. I'd happily have either beer again.
