I am surprised at the low amount of chatter on Big Secret Pizza Party. @voodoobrewery killed it on that beer! One of, if not the best IPA I've had this year.

Sounds like I really need to sneak into this Pizza Party.

Then it wouldn't be a big secret any more. Please, hold your applause.

I had a oatmeal stout from them at Harris's a few months back. It was nice but nothing mind blowing. A good low ABV stout. I've been actively looking for their stuff when I'm out and about but have yet to get lucky other than the one time. Now, I'm intrigued.

I take it no one heard anything about bottles of this?

Aroma is very similar to Sucks/Heady imo. I thought it was great.

Do we know if they tweaked the base at all? Cause the last one they put out in bottles was quite literally probably the worst barleywine I've ever had.

I had it on cask and out of the bottle on the original. The cask was very, very different from the bottle. Bottle was not a barleywine. It was more of a weird imperial brown or something like that. Cask was really good though.

Has anyone here had Jackie O's Bourbon Barrel Champion Ground? Stuff is absolutely delicious. It doesn't have much of a bourbon flavor, but wow, that coffee flavor and aroma is out of this world. This and Oro Negro (which was also lacking in heat), are my favorite Jackie O's offerings I've had to date, and I can't say enough good things about them. It's great for beer nerds that beers of this quality sit on the shelf at Jackie O's and are available for weeks.

I've never had a barleywine on cask. You've really piqued my curiosity.

I just got a Champion Ground yesterday. I am very excited for it. I also got some Hoof Hearted cans. Anyone who hasn't heard of Hoof Hearted should really look into them. Their beer names and artwork are super squirrelly, and that's a good thing for anyone wondering.

I really hope to be impressed by them at some point... I had BA Brick Kiln and Rum barrel Oil of Aprho and was disappointed with both, particularly the RB Oil. I still have sherry barrel Oil and BA Hey Wood. Hoping to enjoy those more.

I loved BA Brick Kiln. I've been really impressed by basically everything I've had from Jackie O's with the sole exception being some shitty raspberry wheat thing.

I thought it was fairly good, I just expected more. BCBBW blows it out of the water for my tastes.

I gave RB Oil of Aprho a 3.46 and I think I was too generous. It was just a rum bomb for me. So crazy sweet and normally sweetness doesn't bother me. I didn't finish it.

Let me know what you think about Champion Ground when you decide to crack it.

I would try to seek out the two beers I mentioned. They are in an entirely different ballpark than from the Jackie O's beers that I've had, especially Champion Ground. One of the easiest drinking barrel aged beers I've ever had.

@jeevo not much of a fan of coffee stouts, but I've not written them off. Still going to drink the bottles I have left with an open mind and hopefully I can snag a bottle or two of Black Maple the next time it comes out.

Oops, I forgot. No IPA's either. :grinning:

I need to try the Black Maple again. The only time I drank it was a while ago and I don't remember having an opinion on it. Looks like it's going to be coming out again soon.

Which cans? I had some of the first run of South of Eleven and crushed them in like 2 days. Trying to get some Musk and Roller Blabe.

I've had a Musk and loved it, have some Blabe but have not yet tried it. I have heard extremely good things from the guy I got them from, and he hasn't missed yet. I will let you know what I think when I get into Blabe.

I think drinking outside on the sidewalk on Carson St in the South Side is frowned upon.

I have family that live right outside of Columbus and we always eat at this taco shop that always has Hoofed Hearted on draft. Glad they are moving from draft only. All of what I've had has been pretty awesome.

Plus as you said, I'm a sucker for their shitty artwork. and Slayer references.
