Does Harris ever post what they are having on tap for their events? I feel like sometimes it's worth it with an awesome lineup, and other times I get burned.

I feel like they don't and try to be coy about it. I asked them on their FB page about the upcoming Bell's event they have this week. Didn't get response. I want to write "don't waste my time if you have shit on tap". They don't realize that if they were to post they will avoid people being angry.

Hypothetically, if I show up to see what is on tap for the event and it is Oarsman, Two Hearted and the like, there is very little chance I am going to show up to another even that they have without knowing what is on tap.

Harris has been nothing but a sham in my opinion. When I lived in Youngstown I drove down on weeknights for 2 different events and was not happy with the outcome of either. On the "Founders Cellar Tap Takeover" a few years ago, they said they would have CBS, KBS, Monk and other "rarities". Really they just had Porter, Breakfast Stout, Centennial and, I shit you not, pours of All Day from a can. The Founders Rep said they never planned to have anything huge, but it was advertised as such from Harris. I haven't been back since and don't plan on it. I also like to give them shit on twitter when they announce they're having some similar event.

The Bell's pre-Big Pour events there have always been good. I've had BA Batch 9000, BA Cherry Stout, Kal Haven, Wedding Ale, some of the jazz series, and a few others. I'm actually kinda bummed I'll miss this year's.

When they had their Founders event during PCBW they announced CBS and KBS.......The KBS was in bottles.

For my Fat Heads friends out, what is the big draw for you for the Sunday Brunch event? Have you guys had the special FH beers that will be on tap?

From my standpoint, going to deal with that shit show doesn't seem worth it to me, probably because I am a grumpy old man. I have had KBS plenty of times, CBS a few times (and it is delicious) so they aren't a "must have". I thought French Toasted Wake'n Bake was delicious but I have had it several times as well. Those three beers would be great to have but not worth dealing with large crowds for. Thus it comes down to the FH beers. Those are the make or break for me in wanting to go to the event. Anyone have any insight?

Jackie O's BA stuff is severely underrated IMHO, especially their bourbon stuff. I agree on the Rum Oil, but I tend to not be a huge fan of rum treatments in other beers. The BA Dark App, BA Woodburner and Bourbon Oil are all really outstanding. I really want to try Champion Ground, but it is unlikely I'll be making the trek.

@Brewski has a soft spot for Hoof Hearted, just ask him.

@troygreer Come around 11:30 then. The initial rush will die down and probably everything but CBS will still be flowing. I think the BA Battle Ax is pretty tasty.

Really into the pro-Jackie O's talk in the thread today. Oro is a beast and one of the best beers out there. I also really enjoy both BA and non-BA Dark Apparition quite a bit. Pretty much any time I'm in Ohio, I try to grab a bottle or two from them.

As for the Harris Grill, even if they had an amazing event there, I'd probably still skip it. Never really cared for the place.

OMG, you have to drink the Blabe. Musk of the Minotaur is fantastic, but Blabe is seriously amazeballs. It's crazy good, juicy and unfiltered, and it reminds me of an IPA you would get from Trillium.

That is a good idea. On the other side of that coin, it is the South Side.

Anyone know of a good place to watch a sporting event, that has a good atmosphere and good beer selection? Looking for a place to watch the MSU vs. Oregon game on Saturday evening.

The MSU alumni bar is in the North Hills but I'd prefer to stay closer to home.

    I can think of a place that's very Michigan-sympathetic...
