My local bottle shop got some Hell Hath No Fury from Bells. Sounds interesting. Anybody had it before?

Yep, it's OK, bit more chocolate than dark fruit - not your typical BDSA. The BA version from 5 or so years ago was fantastic though, but, alas, it was a draft-only one-off.

Yes and I really enjoyed it. Nothing mindblowing, but a decent beer. Was VERY surprised when my rep told me we were getting this week since I haven't seen that beer in quite some time.

Said it before, but I thoroughly enjoyed Clear Sky Daybreak when I tried it at Wolf's Ridge. Since I tend to gravitate towards BA stouts and "extreme" IPAs/DIPAs, this was a nice change of pace.

For anyone interested, here is a nice write-up from the Breakfast with Nick blog: http://www.breakfastwithnick.com/20...s-ridge-brewings-daybreaker-coffee-cream-ale/

There is also a quick mention at the end of the article that the Wolf's Ridge head brewer will be presenting at GABF on the subject of coffee in beer.

Stopped by FH tonight and finally tried their "Cinnamon Toast Crunch Doppelbock" and was hugely disappointing. It was borderline gross. Probably one of the worst beers I have had from them, it had almost a rubbing alcohol aftertaste... Meh.

Oktoberfest was downright awesome... I had it before, but appreciate the style a bit more this year than last. Head Shrinker was better than the recent JuJu and IBUsive releases, IMO. Very impressed with both.

Also had a few guest beers... Victory Prima Pils, Bohdi, and Fuller, Smith & Turner's "London Porter" which was porter perfection. I wish it was a FH beer but unfortunately they have yet to make a stout/porter that good. I am waiting patiently, though!

Nice blog dude, can we get back to "New to Ohio" and keep ratings/reviews to the appropriate part of the site?

Well to be particular, Oktoberfest from FH is relatively "New to Ohio", only being out two weeks or so, so I assumed it was OK. Cinnamon Toast also is limited and they are on their last two kegs of it before I think it goes away for another year. Head Shrinker just came back for both locations, as well.

The others I could have left out, but I like to be thorough. :grimacing:

FWIW, I really like this batch of Head Shrinker, too. Not sure if it's better than JuJu or IBUsive, but it is really good.

In other New to Ohio news, couple interesting label approvals:

Lagunitas Born Yesterday & Three Floyds Battle Priest, Alpha Kong & Wig Splitter.

Not saying they will all come to shelves soon, but maybe for special events!

On the FFF front, I wouldn't be surprised if we see bottles as those offerings were abundant in southeastern Indiana and northern Kentucky last month.

I really hope we get Born Yesterday. I haven't had a hoppy beer from Lagunitas that I didn't like.

    Wet Hopped Trail Head maybe?

Anybody tried or seen Boulevard Funky Pumpkin around Ohio? Not a huge pumpkin fan, but this sound interesting.
