Yeah, the sherry BW I had at Piper's during PCBW was a pretty big disappointment.

Last night I went to Hollywood Gardens in Rochester (40 minutes north of the city) for the first time in a long time. It appears after years of delays, they've finally become Brixton Brewing. They had four of their beers on tap (a stout, hefe, IPA, and pale). All of it was quite good. Previously, you could only get these beers on Friday nights in their "speakeasy."

Naturally, there were no updates about this on the internet, but worth checking out.

Of course there were no updates about it. It is the Pittsburgh Craft Beer way!

But we get childish updates from that loser over at Al's. I don't see how people can support that clown. After trying the Mango Sourer with some of the guys here I considered giving them another shot. But this latest garbage put the nail in the coffin. I am not giving them another dime.

I agree he handled it poorly, but the outrage over such things as entertains me. People bitch about Al, they bitch about his prices but he still doesn't seem to have much issue selling those overly priced, pretentiously crafted bottles of his. Weird.

Well if consumers put their money where their mouths are that might change. But there are too many people who just don't care, they want to bitch yet still go there. I am not one of those people. It will catch up with Al eventually.

tl;dr the thread, but, looking at the email screenshot, seems that changing the name to "Pumpkin Disorderly" would satisfy DFH and still carries the same impact on Al's intended linguistic play.

I really couldn't care less about this, honestly. Not a great idea to post it obviously, but I have had nothing but great experiences with Pizza Boy and Al himself. The guy has been awesome every time I have been there. I know others have said differently, but I have been going there ( and the old place) for years and have not once had a bad experience with beer quality, customer service, Al or anything else. This changes nothing for me and I will continue to support Pizza Boy as much as I always have. Before anyone starts yelling at me, I do realize I am probably in the minority.

I just don't like you, but that has nothing to do with your stance on Pizza Boy! :grinning:

I went over the weekend for the first time and I had never had any of their beers at that point. Had the gose and a pale ale with jalapeno and lime on tap, picked up Black Sour and Intangible Juxtapose on the way out. We enjoyed the experience and frankly that's all that's relevant to me. If I like the place and I like their beers, I'll be back. Like you, I couldn't possibly care less about stuff like that.

I've been to Pizza Boy once. I thought their beer was good, their taplist was very good, and their prices were excellent. Being able to get two growlers of Tired Hands stuff for $14 each was very reasonable. That's enough to keep me going back.

That jalapeno lime pale ale is the HOTTEST beer I have ever had. Makes Hab Sculpin look like a little bitch.

I thought it was awful, to be honest. I enjoyed the gose quite a bit, but that pale ale was like tossing an entire fresh jalapeno in your mouth and chewing it. The heat didn't bother me, just that oily, slick pepper feel. It was pretty terrible.

I don't like heat in my beer not sure why since I love hot food I don't mind a mild pepper taste in stouts but nothing crazy.
