Cheers to your dad for his efforts. My Grandpa was a WWII POW and it was only when he got older that he told some of his stories. Luckily he was treated kindly, for the most part, but man what that generation did for our is more powerful than many realize/recognize.

My grandfather was deployed in the war too... to guard the Panama Canal. His stories mostly revolved around how bad the food was.

Tom Brady LIF – The Results

Over the last week, since the Honorable Judge Berman struck a blow to the oppressive dictatorship that is Roger Goodell and the NFL, all of New England has been celebrating the return of Tom Brady – the greatest quarterback to ever live. His greatness is so great that the word “great” isn’t great enough to encapsulate exactly how great he really is. He deserves to be celebrated with beer.

    Round 1:
The first 12 people (Tom Brady is jersey #12) who “liked” my LIF post were automatically entered.

    Round 2:
Each of the 12 participants chose a 2-digit number. The sum of these two numbers equaled their Round 2 entry – the 6 participants (Tom Brady has been to 6 Super Bowls) closest to “12” moved on. Since there was a tie, I allowed a 7th to advance.

    Round 3:
My fantasy draft was held on Saturday, September 5th. The 7 remaining entries were asked to guess a number (recommended between 20-60) – unbeknownst to them, this number would be their guess as to what draft pick Brady was selected. He ended up going #50 overall, and 3 moved on (Tom Brady has won 3 Super Bowl MVP awards).

    Round 4:
A 3-digit number was requested as the Round 4 guess. The 2 entries (Brady has 2 big brass balls) closest to Brady’s career TD total (392 TD all time) were set to move on. Since one participate didn’t guess in time, the 2 that did guess moved on.

    Round 5:
To select the 1 winner (There is only 1 G.O.A.T. – Brady) the remaining participants submitted guesses for Brady’s performance in the season opener last night. Passing yards, Passing TD, and number of different receivers to catch a pass. @twofacedmonster got the number of unique receivers right on the nose, and was closer in Brady rushing yards. Congrats brother, the box of New England goodies is yours! BM me your details and I'll get it out to you sometime soon!

Congrats @twofacedmonster ! Didn't really make sense for me to win that one anyway with my proximity to Ruckit.

Thank you bud! @PA-Michigander noticed I used the numbers of two of my favorite Detroit Red Wings for rounds 2 and 3(19 and 55), I was a lucky smartass in round 4, and then my faith in ol' Touchdown Tom(GO BLUE!) was rewarded in round 5! I'm all the way with you in that Brady is the GOAT and I was happy to see him shove it in Goodell's face.

That was a fun LIF, so thanks again! It will take me some time but I'll throw my own back out there in the next month or so.

    You know it's Kronner!

Would have had 3 cups in a row if it weren't for his disappearing act in 96. Best thing Scotty ever did was get rid of him and Coffey for Shanny.

Elbert "Ickey" Woods, the Bengals were fools to cut you in '91. Your 1,525 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns will not be forgotten. So, Coach Dave Shula, screw you and your crappy steakhouse!

At this point, @Mipper is more of a lingerer (I'm sure that is a word) than a lurker....

I'll assume, given our close age, that your dad was a 'Nam vet. Is he a member of the SJVVA(South Jersey Vietnam Veterans Association) or one of the local VFWs? I'm curious if he knows my father-in-law...

I think people were a little hung over. I know I hit "draft" with my pick at #6 overall, but somehow Andrew Luck ended up on my team instead...
