Yeah I'm trying to convince my buddies to go to that!

 

I've been there twice and it is always worth going. Definitely going to be a crowded shit show, but still worth it. I am hoping to be able to get back into town to try some of those Fatheads beers that will be on.

I grabbed a growler of Voodoo-nitas Sucks - aka Big Secret Pizza Party - today. It's awesome, like everyone's said, though I'm surprised no-one has dropped that bon mot before. I also felt like I was missing out on the REAL pizza party, which was happening across the street in the Capri's parking lot.

 

Looks like shubrew has a new saison with Brett on tap. Anyone get to try it? Anyone try the jungleboot IPA with peppers?

 

I dont mean to seem self-important or whatnot, but it really is sometimes frustrating when a decent number of Pittsburgh breweries are far away. Just makes goung to see them consumr alcoholic beverages there that much less inviting.

 

Did anyone go to the Harris Bells event last night? Just curious if there was anything interesting and if the helltown barleywine was still on.

 

I had a bottle last weekend. It had a nice pepper nose and mouthfeel worked with the bitterness. No burn in the finish at all. A decent bitter IPA with a bit pepper flavor.

Also, I was there a few weeks ago and had a saison with brett and it wasnt bad at all. Refreshing with a nice brett flavor. Funky nose and finish.

didn't see the helltiown barleywine either, but maybe they took it off to get all those bells taps on

 

Stopped by Full Pint last night. They had Ned on, a Flander Brown. GET IT? lulz.

 

Thats pretty disappointing. Like I said, its been a go to for me in the past. Bummer.

I've come to the conclusion that Pittsburgh just doesn't know how to put on good beer related events. I wish I had the creative mindset for such a thing, I would have a pretty good gig going.

 

Is it the best, most balanced IPA you've ever had...and you've had a lot.

Selling it without a license for any amount of money is illegal.

Buying it is not, until you bring it into PA where you'd then be in possession of alcohol on which PA state taxes were not paid.
