I agree that I forget about them (Hop Farm).

I sometimes think that we in this community have a skewed perspectives on local breweries and their beers. The past couple of times I drove by Hop Farm it didn't appear that they were hurting for business. I cannot comment on Spoonwood's beers as I have not made it out there yet, but from folks I work with that live near there it sounds like they are doing quite well.

I used to think that roundabout had the best hoppy offerings in town but after BG string of beers I think it goes to them now.

I agree that it is our perception but I have been talking to a lot of casual craft beer supporters and they seem to have fallen of the radar for a lot of people.

The last few times I was in Hop Farm it wasn't very full.

I live right down the street from Spoonwood and the place is absolutely packed every day. Granted, I don't get a chance to see how the other breweries in town do business wise on a daily basis, but I would be very surprised if Spoonwood isn't the most profitable in the city.

This is how I feel now too.

I usually only go to brewery in the mid day so most of the time they are dead so can't speak for being busy. Only ones I go to at night is BG and dl since my non beer friends like both places.

I really enjoyed the Grist House Fire on the Hill. I even went back for a second (2 oz.) pour.

Looking over Untappd check ins and comments, it seems like Dancing Gnome got the most positive feedback. This plus their (supposed) commitment to packaging their beer makes me very optimistic.

Also, you don't like IPAs, which seem to be among the most lauded of their beers (at least in this thread).

Definitely objectively stronger branding, but I actually liked the old labels. They looked like a lot of the small Belgian breweries' labels - like the brewer just gave his children some colored pencils and sent 'em to work. Not being at all sarcastic, I thought that was really charming. These will probably sell better in distribution, but I'm a little sad to see the change. What's next, beer names that people can actually pronounce?

Or maybe just Farmhouse Ale? Aren't all ales fermented?
But I'm assuming they're using "Farmhouse Fermented" to refer in some way to wild fermentation?

At the risk of opening the floor to more growler jokes, anybody know if any of the special Fat Heads beers are still on tap? Not worried about CBS/KBS/etc., but was working all day yesterday, and really hoping to try the BA Battle Axe and/or Zeus Juice.

Just to give everyone a heads up... we (Reclamation Brewing Company) are opening at 4:30 on this Wednesday, 9/16. If you can think of anywhere here that would be relevant to post that information, let me know!

SHHH keep that under wraps. Most people don't know that Zwanze day is at The Rock Room this year.

Def understand I usually get a burger or two and go asap. Even convinced @jagoffyinzer to go a few times. One of the best deals in Pittsburgh as far as Im concerned.

They were just giving away Cantillon 1/6 bbls last year. Forget about growlers.
