New to Ohio (2015)

Anyone else have any reports on GLBC Oktoberfest. Had one on draft that tasted off but a 6 pack that was drinking great. Wasnt sure if it was the bar I was at or my mind playing tricks on me. Trying to decide if I want to get a full 1/2 bbl to put in my kegerator. Any help appreciated.

 

Probably not much "pumpkin love" here, but heard that Thirsty Dog is releasing a (Jim Beam I believe) BA version of their Pumpkin ale supposedly bottling now....I think they had so much of their Pumpkin ale released very late last season, that they decided to BA it....perhaps!

 

I had a bottle a few weeks ago and it tasted weird. Have not had on draft anywhere yet.

 

Has anyone noticed Head Hunter bottles without bottling dates?

 

Sometimes the bottle timestamp printer malfunctions or gets rubbed off in transport. It's not the norm.

 

Seems to be a pretty common thing for breweries. Even with cans.

 

Fathead's Hop fro hit Columbus along with Revolution's Gravedigger Billy

 

I had a Nosferatu on draft last night at City Tap after working a double and I feel like one of the sheep, but it was not nearly as malty and sweet or as hoppy (very little aroma) as previous incarnations. I really love this beer and have drank a ton of it over the past few years, but that pour last night was fairly bland. Heading to GLBC with the pup today to try it at the source and make a real judgement call.

 

Damn, bet that is what was in the closed Revolution boxes at Market District Grandview. Didn't think to ask since I typically don't go for Revolution stuff. Have to go back now. BTW, they also had Yum-Yum and Gumball Head.

 

Could also be Mosaic Hero which hit here in Cincy along with Gravedigger Billy.

 

Hop Fro was distributed? I haven't seen it anywhere on the westside.

 

All over Cincy as of today.

 

I had Hop Fro at Local Cantina while visiting CBus last weekend. Good stuff.

I think rum barrels work a lot better with Pumpkin Ales, but thanks for sharing the info. Will definitely give it a try.

Not sure, but planning to stop over at TD either this evening or Thursday evening, will post to let folks know..I am guess 12 oz bottles, but hard to tell with TD
