Pittsburgh - New Beers & Local Breweries

My first experience with Heady was a $7.50 can from the house, I believe...not surprised to hear it's topped out (pun intended) in the double digits at that particular location.

 

I think it was $13 a can when they first got it in 2012, then went down to $8. Last seen in 2013 for $10.

 

They do brew it quite regularly, and is almost always on draft, but it recently kicked and they're waiting their new brewing system and it won't be around for a couple months minimally I'm guessing.

 

I just took a crowler of it to a share at Troys a few weeks back. It was pretty solid.

 

I must have bought the $8 version then.

 

That's a shame, because I heard that the $10 version was 20% better, but the $13 was overpriced swill.

 

Positive shuggy, I'm out of here I didn't sign up for that!

Anyone heading to BG tonight for Mexican Coffee? I was thinking about heading up there for a quick pint after work.

Yeah, I check up on his profile every once in a while (is that creepy? )...still hasn't ticked a beer since July...I figure that's where he's likely to show signs of life again before he entertains posting in here again...

 

To be fair, he went out in style!

 

Will be heading down but will be just filling up a 750

 

He's in a Pittsburgh beer group on Facebook. I wrote something about one of the new breweries and he commented that he was unaware. I told him he would have been if not for his self-imposed exile from BA. He said he'd be back eventually.

 

How is Mexican Cake drinking....considering coming down?
