Forgot I even had bought this on vinyl sometime in the last two years. Figured it was a good day to open it and play it for the first time. And my first four pack has convinced me it's always a good day for this beer. It's gotten better each time I've had it.

My favorite song off the album, one of their best.

Thanks @Ozzylizard for this trade, this guy is a stand-up BA'er. Not your fault for this Stout's fail

Unfortunately it failed to meet my expectations for a RIS.

    Review :

    3.48/5 rDev -11%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.25

Appearance : Jet black motor oil colored body, both out of the bottle and into the globe snifter. The head is about a finger but dies quickly to a beige ring. Opacity is of course 100%. Lack of head knocks it down a quarter point.

Smell : Made sure to pour this in a snifter so I could get the full effect. Mostly toffee and burnt malts, alcohol fuel and peanut, prune, singed black licorice...maybe a hint of rich Swiss chocolate.

Taste : It starts with a watery buzz, followed by a pinch of cooca, peppermint, roasted malts, peanut hulls, prune skin, and then more water/nothing. The vast majority of this flavor profile is like drinking alcoholic water. It's washed out, not well mixed, and just plain off.

Mouthfeel : Watery, especially for a Russian Imperial Stout. Some light buzz accompanies the feel which if it weren't there would feel like Aquafina. A slight dryness finishes out the swallow.

Overall : This was not a very good stout, and a piss poor representation of a Russian Imperial Stout. Is it drinkable? Yes. But only because of the watery nature and the tight carbonation. I have never had a worse RUSSIAN Imperial Stout. Fail.

Trying a new fish beer from these guys today! Not very impressed by this one, but then again I don't really like beta fish too much ether. Actually thought I got lucky and got a crimson snapper at 1st glance lol. I do have to say I do enjoy the taste, kinda sourish in a way from the raspberry puree, but cant taste any actual raspberry flavor till the very end of each sip. Definitely an interesting beer nonetheless

Enjoying this very fresh and tasty Gone Away from Half Acre f/k/a Heyoka, f/k/a Senita. To paraphrase Juliet, a beer by any other name would taste as sweet! Who cares what the name is-- you can litigate all you want, but good beers will always be good no matter what you call them (though Gone Away is not the most riviting name ever!). Happy Friday, BAs!
