Not generally a sour stout fan either, but if I can pick one up at DL, I'll give it a shot.

Will buy for the label alone; really cool design. I think twitter subtlety said 10/9

All I think we can ask is you give it a fair chance if you try it. EDIT: I heard its good. I don't know though it could be hog wash. I want to see for myself as well.

So I think we've all been in the situation that someone's homebrew fucking sucks and you can't say it because you don't want to be a huge asshole. Thoughts? I'm sure this doesn't apply to @shuggy but maybe @kbuzz is a normal enough human and is sensitive of this.

I want to know the truth and I don't care how it's delivered. I think any homebrewer, no matter how good or bad he thinks he is, wants honest feedback. Some might be a bit more sensitive to how the news is delivered, so a bit of tact could be in order...i.e. don't tell someone their shit sucks in front of a group of twenty people at a share or whatever.... maybe later in a one-on-one scenario would be more appropriate. Homebrewers ...all brewers, probably?...want to know how to improve. And the more specific the feedback, the better....

Agreed. Just saying that's it's not necessarily cause for fanfare and bumping your own posts when you have something ready.

I always want honest feedback on my beer. I'd appreciate a little more than "this sucks" to be able to figure out what's wrong with it, but I'm no pro and don't expect to be able to brew world class beers (especially sours)

It's always pretty easy to tell by peoples first reaction whether they like it or not as well

Excel spreadsheet, please. I don't have time to sift through a bunch of miscellany.

In these instances, you obviously want to provide candid feebdback, but people vary drastically in their tolerance for honesty; for those with thinner skin I usually resort to a soggy compliment sandwich: I like the nose, but it's a little more dominated by malts than I prefer for an ale, though this mouthfeel is really quite nice.

My last sour tasted like hot garbage. It was a little comical to hear friends dancing around negative words/phrasing: it really looks like a beer in this glass!
