New to Ohio (2015)

Thanks! I purchased it. And to keep it to the new to Ohio theme this is the first time I've seen it in Toledo.

 

Not an Ohio IPA, but Revolution Mosaic Hero just hit shelves this week.. it's pretty awesome IMO..

 

Has anyone tried the InspirationALE from Fat Head's? Just hit a place that does growler fills by my office and want to know if it's worth grabbing one. Unfortunately no way I can do a pint this weekend.

 

Unless they brewed a new batch, it's a couple months old. OK, but no Head Hunter or IBUsive.

Cool - it's an IPA by Fat Head's. I guess I owe it to them to get a growler fill since they haven't let me down yet with hoppy offerings (although I thought Hop Fro to be solidly meh).

 

Bottlehouse in Cleveland Heights just tapped its new porter, Threads of Fate.

 

It hit Ohio (including Toledo) last year, but I second the recommendation. It's as good as Backwoods Bastard and Wulver.

 

Fat Heads has Experimental DIPA on tap, N. Olmsted.

 

So until tonight, I hadn't seen any really good beer. First stop was Arrow Wine and Spirits just of Lyons Rd in Centerville. While much, much more focused to wine and liquor, it has a decent selection, a lot of which is not the common shelf filler stuff. Also has a growler station with some good stuff (including Ayinger Oktoberfest!).

Then later we went to Ollie's Place. It is owned/ran by the same owner as Belmont Party Supplies. OMG. It is right off of 725 in Centerville. The selection is one of the best I have seen ANYWHERE. Everything from homebrew supplies to limited rare releases and events. Tonight was an Evil Twin Jesus event, including Double Barrel, Aun Mas, Even More, and others. Unreal place, and less than 10 minutes from the apartment that we are likely going to end up renting. Ended up getting the (last?) Fat Head's Hop Fro and a single of Rhinegeist Franz. Hope it is as good as I have heard.

Kinda happy to have found two places that are so close with so much good beer. Was worried I would have to drive to Jungle Jim's/Party Source to get anything good.

Quick question for anyone who's been to a hoof hearted canning day. I'm planning on going today for S11.
Is it pretty safe to assume there'll be cans at the end of the day, in the 4-5 window? I know, I need to go and enjoy the place, but today for whatever reason, I want to watch my football team lose, so I need to go either 12:-12:45 or 4:15-5. The latter is slightly easier, so just curious if that'd work.

Still have Teku glasses at $15/glass.

 

I got there right at noon and by the time I got up to the bar area they said they were out of teku glasses. Maybe they had a stash out back?

 

Wasn't sure if anyone mentioned it, but The Brew Kettle is building a new 40,000 sq ft facility.

Also, for Cincinnati folks, The Party Source had some Yum Yum and Alpha King (at least they did Friday) with Gumballhead on tap at 8 Ball.
