Mexican Coffee isn't doing it for me (again). I will dump out my coffee at work though if someone used a flavored K-cup before me and my coffee tastes like anything besides plain coffee.

Thought Mexican Coffee had significantly more cinnamon presence last year. It was still solid though I thought.

They were out to get white-girl wasted. Couldn't even have a conversation.

Sara stopped by Roundabout with some friends and they all said they were a little let down with the new BA Stout. I guess that I am not in a rush to check it out now.

On Friday Steve from Spoonwood dropped off a growler of his new IPA. Really dug how juicy and sweet it is. If they continue to brew beer like this I will be really excited to see how they evolve.

Anyway, really enjoyed the beer and I am excited to see it evolve.

Yeah I didn't regret any of the three I tried, went down just fine, just didn't give me the impression I should go back immediately. Once they're more settled in and getting experimental (though admittedly the chocolate IPA was the first I've ever had) then I'll try them again.

I took the drive to Reclamation yesterday because I was riding solo and had time to kill. Was busy for the first 30-40 minutes after opening and died down after. They are new so I do not fault for slower service or anything. I did not have any food but it looked good, was later told that a few people did not enjoy what they had. I tried 5 beers and the "sour" was promising as was the single IPA, but came up a little short in overall flavor. The other offerings we not very good and for the most part one dimensional. They have a good setup and I am sure after some time will get better and more consistent. I had similar feelings about Shubrew and Brew Gentlemen the first few times I went. The only thing about Reclamation I will have a hard time getting passed were the prices. I heard complaints from everyone around me at the bar when paying. Pint prices were ok ~6$, taster was a little high at $9.50 for 4 tasters and the growler prices were crazy at 20-28$. I guess for now they have the market in Butler, but once they get competition a block or so away, things may have the change a bit.

I don't know if Tom from BG is on here, but I told him I would let him know about Reclamation. Also, had some really tasty beers at BG and opened a growler of Citra Saison with some guys I met at Reclamation.

That Citra Saison was really good IMO. The best thing I've had from BG thus far.

    That's absurd.

$20-$28 growler fills are what I see at shitty MD bottle shops that don't know how to price their new-fangled growler stations.

I mean, when I went to Pizza Boy a few weeks ago, I got two growlers filled with Tired Hands beer for $28 total.

I'm guessing those were also 2L fills as their 1L Tired Hands stuff is $7-$8 each, which often times can be less expensive than fills from the source.

Had a ton of Mexican Coffee at BG Friday. Also had the Citra Saison, CPA, Clown Party, Barleywine and some others. They are just crushing it. That friggen Barleywine is so good. Clown Party really did it for me as well. Sparty on.

Which breweries did you go to? The only one worth anything is Burley Oak and they are like 20 mins from OC

While I agree with the sentiment, I thought the barleywine was a miss. It tasted good but I didn't think it was really a barleywine. It was much more of a malty-IPA than a barleywine. Was good and I'd drink it again but a miss on the style.

It is an AMERICAN barleywine.. Definitely not a miss IMO.

Bigfoot is a good way to describe it. That being said, not my cup of tea.

Ok I can drink Bigfoot but not my favorite style so might get a taster but nothing more

Agree with you. Of all the beers I had on Friday evening, the barleywine was easily the biggest miss. I enjoyed everything else to varying degrees but I thought it was pretty poor.
