I swung into Hoof Hearted on the way back from the Buckeye game this AM, almost missed it. Not sure what time they "opened" but they were already canning and I happened to roll in at 1130. If they werent open yet, appreciate them selling me the 2 4 packs as I wouldnt have been able to swing through later.

Hit the Wolf's Ridge restaurant and Tap Room yesterday ahead of the Buckeye game, Oh my goodness. So many variants, so much good beer. I was very very impressed.

Took two growlers to the Browns tailgate fiesta and the brew was fantastic. And the Browns won! Win-Win.

First time at Hoof Hearted today and won't be the last! Had a super busy Sunday so couldn't stay and enjoy the weather and have a few on tap (sadly), but it was a super smooth and easy release. Got there around 1:15 and by the time I had a chance to buy there was only 3 cases left (not sure if they brought more out) and I got a few 4-packs and a teku to take home.

Very small operation and the outdoor area was pretty cool. Will be bringing my growler next time (didn't think about doing growler fills) and actually chill down there. Really cool spot and I know it would be a great place to hangout in the Fall weather.

BTW South of Eleven is an awesome beer! Can't wait to try more from them.

    @JohnnyMc

I was there from 12-3:30 or so at the bar... The had plenty of south of eleven up to the time we left. They have the huge cooler filled, so what was on the floor isn't all they had... They constantly went into the cooler and grabbed more to “stock” the pile by the cash register.

I did feel bad though about the Teku glass temporary shortage… They had about 20 glasses prepared on the merch rack right when they opened which sold out very quickly in about 30mins or something… Then when people asked were told they were sold out and had no more for about 15mins or so… Then one of the workers dug out more and was bagging/preparing more for sale… They had plenty of glasses. Hopefully those who were turned away from one for that 15min period or so didn’t leave and were able to grab one. I got my glass at like 3pm and there was plenty on the bottom shelf still to buy. I didn’t expect the glass to be $15, but it seems like that is about the going rate for those glasses… Hopefully I don’t break mine… lol

Had a great time (again) at Hoof… I don’t mind the 1-1/2hr drive from Cleveland at all… Was busier this time than last for the Musk release, but it was well controlled and the line moved quickly it seemed. Those guys were working hard.

My only “complaint” would be that they didn’t have any South of Eleven on tap… I was looking forward to trying it to see how much I wanted to buy, so I ended up with just two 4-packs. I am sure it will be awesome, but still.

Anyone here get to try that Hoppin' Frog/Triple Digit (Listermann) collaboration "Stuff" at Fifty Fest over the weekend? How was it?

Keg ran out while I was in line. Got a sip of it - from that one sip, it was fantastic! Great balance of flavors. Talked to one of the brewers of Triple Digit while there, and he said bottle release will be taproom only (maybe some distribution to Jungle Jims) and about 700 bottles.

Thank you sir. Got one on hold because of this post, forgot about the canning party yesterday.

Remind you of Oro? Also how was the festival? looked packed from pics on twitter, I was worried about the parking situ.

Hard to tell from one sip, and have only had Oro in bottle format, not draft. From the small sip, I prefer Stuff - but take that with 100 grains of salt.

The festival is awesome every year, but I'm a giant 50W fan. I think they are a model for what craft beer should/could be in Cincinnati. That being said, organization needs work. Parking is fine as there is plenty of shopping parking on 50, and they were shuttling if desired. I walked, because it is quicker. There is only one specialty tent, and you better be there 10-15 minutes AT LEAST before the highly sought after tappings. Like I said, the keg of Stuff blew in about 10 minutes while I was still pretty far back in line.

I went mainly for the TRIPA bottles and to have some of the more accessible stuff and just have fun, so I wasn't worried about it. $8 TRIPA 12 oz bottles a bit ridiculous, but happy to support the brewery. Best "triple" IPA I've ever had with very little boozy character which turns me off slighlty from Double Crooked Tree and Devil Dancer.

I can't speak for Columbus, but it looks like it did hit Cincinnati distribution today. Jungle has it.

Made the trip up to Hoof Hearted yesterday...got there a little after 3:00. Wife, dog, and I all had a blast...definitely planning on heading up there again sometime. As for the South of Eleven my wife and I each cracked open a can when we got home...both of us loved it. I have been really impressed with Hoof Hearted's beers so far.

I have only had one HH beer - Musk. Wasn't overly impressed but I may try to make the next canning, as I want to try some of their different IPAs.

FWIW musk was my least favorite by far of the cans I've tried (although I enjoyed it fine).

    For me, Blabe>South of Eleven>>Musk

I thought the Experimental DIPA was fantastic. Much better than Head Shrinker, I had them back to back. Not a lot of information on the menu about the beer and the bartender didn't know anything else about it.

This might be a reach but seriously Hop Fro (9/9 date) might be the best pale ale I've ever had. Tastes very similar to Julius and honestly I think I'd rather have Hop Fro.

I think I may like Musk better than South of Eleven... Just had a can now of the South.

To me, both taste very similar... Same type of fruity hop profile. Is Roller Blabe the same way? It was very good, I am just hoping for some different flavors in some of their other IPA/IIPA's. One day I will have to have Musk and South back to back to really compare. I am leaving for Orlando tomorrow though and heading to Cigar City on Wednesday (Jai Alai <3), think I might take four cans down with me (2 Musk, 2 South) and see if they will offer up any goodies for them in return.
