I've had it a hand full of times as well and it always tasted like a creamy nice BA stout.

Luckily for us though, breweries will often respond to ctriticism or critique of their production, whereas an athlete will keep on performing the same way through amd through.

    Including, say...a bunch more scallops?

Or oysters. Love me some oysters.

Think I might pair some scallops with some bacon later today. And then pair them both with my mouth.

After bitching about SW beer dinner ticket pricing, I'm hesitant to mention that Eleven is hosting a BG beer dinner (http://www.elevenck.com/brew-gentlemen-dinner/) this Sunday. Tickets either $75 or $85 (website and email from Big Burrito have conflicting info). Kind of want to call the babysitter.

    It includes CPA and oysters.

That's probably less than what you'd spend on a big dinner with drinks at eleven anyway

And that's part of the difference--places typically serving bar food are usually $ and places like Eleven are usually $$$.

There is swordfish on the menu tonight. I am ordering that when I go, along with Wonton Nacho's!

Noticed Bells Wild One, and Contrabassiste are on at Caliente. Even if it's priced highly, I wouldn't mind paying $5 for wild one at happy hour.

Re: the article - I wonder if Scott's "toxic" remark had anything to do with, I dunno, unsubstantiated attacks on his character. Maybe? A little bit?

walked to get a sandwich. Stopped by Allegheny City Brewing.

Ummmmm....aside from the "bar menu" at Eleven, the food on the rest of their menu is well worth the $$$

Wait! We're planning some special surprises that might change your mind...including but not limited to: Super Extremely Rare Untappd Badge, Courtroom Sketch Keepsake, and Mash Tun Hot Tub Time Machine Experience. VIPs will also have the opportunity to watch me attempt the Extreme Salvia Challenge (for a nominal fee). Seriously, though, our chef is putting out some fantastic dishes, and it's his show. This is our inaugural beer pairing dinner, and it's intended to be intimate (36 tickets). There will be more events to come, at various price points. And my hope is to shake the hand of every local beer advocate before my beard is entirely gray. -Steve

Right; that was the point of my post: I'm not surprised/put off by the price of the Eleven BG dinner (because of the type of place Eleven is [$$$]), while SW is a totally different type of place ($), so I am surprised at their $$$ beer dinner.

Not bashing any part of the effort; glad to see this local (to me) event and am excited to hear that there is more to come. For me, it's just a higher than anticipated out-of-the-gate price point, based upon similar events--like Fat Heads, Mad Mex and the aforementioned Eleven dinner (the latter of which is ten bucks cheaper). But at 36 seats and as crowded as you guys are all the time, I have little doubt that you'll sell out the event. Looking forward to seeing the online pics and thanks again, Steve, for bringing to the table Freemang, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Cheers.
