Hopefully they bring in better clientele than 99 bottles. Last time I was at that place, there was a rowdy dude in a dirty, oversized wifebeater double fisting 4 loko's at 5pm

So has anyone seen Bells 30th Anni or bottles of this year's Black Butte anni hit anywhere in the city yet? I try to keep eyes out but am lucky to stop by any of the places that would actually have the foresight to order such things maybe once every three weeks or so.

Sorry, maybe you should specify what day this was. Apparently that could've been any of us.

Big ups to Church on medal-ing. PA has a few on this list but certainly they are much further away from Pittsburgh. Fat Head's absolutely cleaned house by the look of it. Competition has probably never been so fierce.

Wait - you mean no-one here did their due diligence in informing the GABF judges that CBW's beers are mediocre & average at best?

Seriously, though, congrats to Justin & crew.

Fat Heads did awesome again and in big categories. Winning in Double IPA is a crazy challenge and doing well multiple years in a row in the same handful of styles shows it is no fluke.

I would have to double check the old winners list but it feels like they are medaling on the same pace as Firestone Walker over the past few years.

I had a Sunshine Daydream on draft last night and it was great.

Yeah, pretty nuts. They medalled in 5 of 92 categories, and with 4 golds and a silver. They're split between multiple locations (what's the deal with the two different Ohio locations?), but still.

Congrats to @ChurchBrewCrew! I went to the cbw last night with some friends who had never been. I was pleasantly surprised by the kenyan coffee pale ale and their take on oktoberfest. I thought both were delightful.

The two Ohio locations are the new production facility and the pub. It is kind of a trick to how GABF entries work. You can only enter 5 beers (used to be 10 a few years ago), but you can split separate locations and enter 5 beers per location, but then they are considered separate for the 'brewer of the year' cumulative totals.

So in this case, Fat Heads was able to enter a total of 15 beers and picked up 5 total medals, but 2 for the pub, 2 for the production, and 1 for the new Portland pub meant that none of the individual locations had enough to win a brewer of the year award.

I'm not looking at the list right now, but I believe in the past Firestone has had a couple different locations, Devil's Backbone has a pub and production, and Pizza Port always enters all of their locations separately. I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.

Actually there is none available at the moment, but we just put 20bbls in a tank on Friday before the results were announced. Providence!

We'll be bottling a portion and the rest will be on draft just as soon as it is ready.

Thank god they didn't send in that boring shitty berliner of theirs, don't think that would have won any medals. Congrats Justin, I expect to see quadzilla win next year.
