I know Shipyard isn't the greatest
& I know I should have known better
But I ordered this in an online grocery delivery
& didn't get to see the back label
& surely this is a new low for Marston's fraudulent advertising techniques

I assume that's because of the link up between Ringwood who Marstons now owns and Shipyard who were set up by Alan Pugsly (who also set up Ringwood). Shipyard still brew a version of Old Thumper

I say this everytime, but everyone needs to get into the Aventinus Eisbock. It's everything a quadrupel wants to be.

Pretty sure I had that from Tesco last week. Wasn't bad if I recall, albeit I'd had a few by then.

Not had it before, didn't realise it was 12% until this morning!

The Mrs has just surprised me with a pack of 8% Lexington Kentucky bourbon barrel stouts, 4 for a fiver from home bargains!

Anspach & Hobday The Smoked Brown - a decent smoky stout, just suffering from what to me is the most common negative factor in stouts: too intense carbonation, making it seem more watery, rather than rich and luscious, as you'd want it, espcially at over 5%

If anybody wants a beer52 voucher I got one in a Decanter magazine. Code is DCB52, it's a £10 voucher.

It's basically stollen bread in a glass.

St Austell's Big Job last night. Good, but does not exceed expectations, which were set high.

Not sure if this should go here or the supermarket thread? Oh well...from Aldi's latest Scottish craft ale fest...

    2 x Windswept - Wolf Dark & Strong Ale,
    2 x Loch Ness - Hoppyness,
    2 x Brewmeister - Pump'd,
    2 x Brewdog - Jack Hammer,
    2 x Tempest - Red Eye Flight,
2 x Tempest - Long White Cloud (not in the ale fest, but hey ho!)

From £1.49 - £1.99 for each of these, you can't really complain.
