Thats woohaa IPA , not iipa as my phone was being a wank

Trying the knops ipa to start, fairly restrained aroma, standard hoppy taste and a bit of a mineral quality to the beer

Good beer but I'd ditch the India from the name and just call it a modern pale ale

I've had this before I think, quite a while ago though

Went back and got those two, didn't see the Eden bourbon barrel but got, St. Andrew Oatmeal Ale and Cromarty Happy Chappy.

Don't bother with the woohaa IPA. Very poor beer.

    Cheers mate.

Currently having the Windswept - Wolf, dark malts and not too sweet, even a slight bitterness, very good.

My local Aldi has some "Oktoberfest" beer and Wychwood Dunkel Fester "halloween" beer which probably means we won't be seein the 99p Pumpkin Ale this year. Not a patch on the above.

The Pump'd was awful, actually poured it down the sink.
Lochtoberfest was a nice dark red ale, similar in style/flavour to Thrappledouser.

Just watched Sarah Warman, a brewdog beer expert on c4 Sunday Brunch talking about German beer, and demonstrating an impressive (relative) lack of knowledge. Apparently a 1l stein now contains 3 and a bit pints of beer. Pretty good for someone with cicerone certification.

Fair point yeah, easy to criticize.

Anyways I've drunk that Estonian rye beer, very nice, wholesome stuff. Plus I've been raiding my beer stash and I've had:
Weyerbacher Old Heathen - pretty decent but nothing astounding
2011 ayinger weizenbock - past its best but still nice
2012 Orval - huuuge carbonation, really dominates the palate, but lots of lovely candied smell, big yeast character too- typical Belgian style, spicy hops, all flavours pretty subtle and laid-back, might prefer it fresh but let's see what my other 2012 is like in 6 months first

    Greenwich Black IPA

    Southwold Winter IPA

I dabbled with the winter spirit in IPAs over the weekend - courtesy of M&S. Just a couple - both decent beers, the Black IPA edging it for me. A well bodied and bittered IPA. Well worth a try.

    De Ranke Guldenberg
    Hardknott Infra Red
    Lagunitas IPA

Having a nice run on the strong Belgian ales, Guldenberg being one of them. IPA was very good, really crisp taste and good hop character, £1.65 a bottle @ Morrisons.

Windswept Wolf. Not really liking it, has a bit of an ashtray quality to it

I know right? My local has Buxton, a few Sirens, Lagunitas IPA, SNPA and Torpedo, Fourpure and more that I can't remember, not to mention their usual own branded stuff.

Start as you mean to go on, kicking off the holiday in Wales with Oskar Blues Ten Fidy on tap at Brewdog Cardiff. Fyi: not a great thirst quencher after a long train ride.

Aesop Rock on the sound system too, wicked

Stone Delicious Ipa - all hops no bollocks, way to thin and insubstantial for a 7.7%

It was mainly their own branded stuff that impressed me the most - without having tried them yet I should say though - I'm sure they've added a load more to what they used to sell. I'll try them out over the coming weeks

I'm in west wales this weekend, probably lots of brains for me
