I always dry hop with leaf or whole hops in my carboy secondary when possible. When I rack the finished beer I get minimal particulates in my bottling bucket. Never used a muslin bag over my auto siphon ever(though this may change when I start trying dry hopping with stuff I can only get in pellets). Thank goodness I am a centennial addict, because those hops are so easy to get as leaf. It is a pain in the ass to get them into the carboy from the hop envelope, but it is well worth it once it is finished.

After it is finished then I just pour out whatever trub is left and then rattle the carboy to evacuate the hops from the carboy into a shopping bag and throw it out. With whole hops, all I need to do is shake the carboy with tap water and all the remaining leaflets rinse out. I use a bucket for primary so I always have an easy day cleaning that out. If I have to use my better bottles for primary, I just use Oxiclean and it cleans all the crap off flawlessly.
