Priceline- name your own price, can work pretty good for Chicago if there are no big conventions in town. I would try 4 stars on magnificent mile or millennium park options, and start with $100. I'm guessing between $100-150 will land you a room at the Hyatt.
The brewery is about 3 miles west of downtown in a warehouse district, surrounded by not the best of areas, so I think downtown is the best option, unless you do an air bnb in wicker park or bucktown area.

If you're willing to go on the cheap go to Google Maps and search for hostels. There are a few close by that I think you can get for less $50 a night.

So I put this out to a couple locals via PM but I'm going to slightly thread jack and post it here as well...

I have a good friend who has offered to put myself and my guest up in a hotel based on points that he accumulates for work. He gave me three options for hotels and I've narrowed it down to these two: 5300 West Touhy, Skokie and 5615 N. Cumberland Ave, Chicago.

I know neither are all that close to the Fulton St. location but free is free. I'm thinking we'll park at the hotel and take Uber to Fulton St. then use the shuttle to the barrel warehouse for the tasting. From there we will probably either stick around in that area for the evening or else shuttle back to Fulton St. and Uber back to the hotel - at which time we would find a bar or bars for the evening in that area.

So my question is which location would be better? Is it better to stick around the barrel warehouse for the evening on Friday and then take transportation back to the hotel or are there decent bars nearby either hotel? We'll probably try and drive to a couple bottle shops the next day before heading out of town. Thanks for any help

That is great news. I'm guess all the usual spots. Not sure if I will be in town but wherever I am I will be on a Rate hunt haha.

I was selected in the 2nd chance drawing. It had my name automatically in the form to fill out. It also had a spot for my guest and their email address. Once I submitted I received an email with a ticket stating both our names and the fact that I paid $80. However my friend did not receive an email with a ticket. Is this normal? Will the one ticket that I received be sufficient for both of us to attend? The FAQs mentioned two tickets. So it has me concerned that I only received one ticket. If anyone has any info on this or had the same experience please let me know. If your guest received an email with a ticket I am going to have to figure out how to get that resent...

None of those are real good options but like you said, Free is Free. They are about the same distance to the brewery so I would just go with what ever hotel you prefer.

These hotels are not close at all and this is going to be a pricey Uber ride. You may want to think through this "free" hotel option. As a local to Chicago, this doesn't make a lot of sense.

The Cumberland option puts you right next to the Cumberland Blue line stop. Take Blue line to Grand and youre only 1.5 miles from Fulton St. Cab/Uber/Walk that 1.5 mile

GF got our second drawing winning email Friday evening around 6:15pm. See you guys in a few weeks whoever is going to session A! We got a room at a hostel in Wicker Park for $60 by the way. Heading to STL immediately after to pick up our Abraxas allocations!

You could also take the blue into Clark/Lake and transfer over to the Pink line and get off at Morgan and be right in the West Loop area.

Personally, I would consider passing on the free hotel and try to priceline something in River North/Mag Mile/Millennium Park area. You can probably grab something for around $100 and cut your travel times/expenses quite a bit.

Thanks. I did see that in the FAQ's. To me it still suggests that there are two tickets. I only received one ticket via email. So I am wondering if people received two separate tickets or if there is just the one that will allow both to enter.
