NEW YORK, NY (October 16, 2015) - VICE's food channel, MUNCHIES, today debuts the first episode from its new series Craftwerk, which meets with the most innovative beer brewers in the game to uncover their unique histories and the secrets to their success.

In the premiere episode, MUNCHIES heads to Brooklyn Brewery to meet the duo behind the New York borough's namesake beer. Watch it here: http://munchies.vice.com/videos/craftwerk-brooklyn-brewery

Steve Hindy, Brooklyn Brewery's founder and chairman, fell in love with home brewing during his time as a war correspondent in the Middle East; while Garrett Oliver, the brewmaster of the duo, discovered his passion for craft beer while he was a rock band manager in London. Despite discovering their passions for brewing in unconventional ways - a common theme in the industry MUNCHIES learns that the two were clearly meant for this craft.

Stay tuned for upcoming episodes of Craftwerk, which feature the brewers behind Bellwoods, Dogfish, and more, as they roll out on MUNCHIES every two weeks.

A very well done program. Enjoyed watching it, but I wish it was a bit longer; will definitely be on notice for future episodes.

The Three Floyds episode plays more like a commercial than an actual show. Oh well.

I wish it had been a bit longer. Was actually expecting more of a 30 - 60 min. documentary type show.

How long ago did they film that spot at Three Floyds? When Nick talks about expansion they show the area/field next door. But, the new building and distillery exterior have been up for well over a year, maybe almost 2?

Uh, not quite. That was the period of the Big Six in the US (Stroh having purchased long-time #2 Schlitz a few years previously, leapfrogging into the #3 spot). Coors was not yet even nationally-distributed. Stroh, Heileman and Pabst together still had over 25% of the US market.
