Flew out of Burlington, VT airport earlier this year. Row of Heady in the cooler just staring at me. $8 a pop, kicker was my flight was at 6am and they don't serve until after 8am :slight_frown:

Our local airline Sun Country actually serves Surly on the plane. We got upgraded to first class and they were all free. Hit up each one and got that nice plane buzz on.

The biggest surprise I've had with airport beer is how bad my ass hurt after paying for it. :slight_frown:

That surprisingly excellent mexican food really is excellent though, assuming we're talking about Tortas Fronterra. Intelligentsia drip coffee too.

Unfortunately the laws don't allow us to fill growlers at the airport location. However, we do sell bottles to go. No problem on taking beer onto the plane as you're already past security at that point (the TSA wouldn't care about growlers either...it's the CA ABC rules that don't allow it in this case).

But if you *could* get a growler in the airport, what would you do with it (you ask)? Take it home. If you live in San Diego, then it's the most convenient spot as you're literally walking right by it, or if you're flying out, then same goes.

How the hell do you get a big bucket full of beer on a plane in this day and age? I'm sure you know what you're talking about but it goes against everything I have experienced with the security line.

I flew out of Burlington back in May and was ecstatic to find not only a place that sells Heady (it was 11 AM, but of course I had one!), but also the best free airport wi-fi I've ever come across! That combo makes Burlington a clear favorite for best airport in the U.S. by my calculations.

All of this stuff is past security, fyi, inside the terminal.

That would explain some things, like why you don't have to put it in a tiny useless little bottle in a zip lock bag. Thanks.

It's airside, past security. You get your growler filled at the pub, then get on your plane.

I did see you said it gets filled past the security gate after I read the post more carefully. It still just seems weird they let you take that on board with you though. Not that I don't believe you. Cheers!

Had a 4-hour layover in Salt Lake City a ways back, found a Squatters brewpub along there, and holed up with my book for some eats and a few Polygamy Porters.
Last year had one in Houston - Hobby and found a BWW that had Real Ale (the brewery.) Don't remember the exact brew, but the guy said it was similar to Blue Moon. The description was nothing like that, but sounded good - it was basically a Tripel, IIRC.

Atlanta Terminal A has Three Taverns. It was pretty darn good. An IPA, a lot of belgian influence as well. Beats the hell out of Sweetwater.

Yeah there a few weeks ago. Harry Carey's had revolution and a few other good locals.

Phoenix has Four Peaks brew/rest and they also have a Matts Big Breakfast where you can get a meal in an awesome Bloody Mary.

Had my first New glarus spotted cow at Milwaukee's airport

Cleared customs and then had several choices for killing time in Munich.....

Berlin you check in and then are there at the gate, they can't open the new airport soon enough
