Has anyone found any cantillion or other brews similar to them anywhere in Venice? I'm leaving to go there next week and would like to know if anyone has found any there. Thanks!

#nope. Hit up Da Aldo and you won't be disappointed in the beer selection. Even some nice Italian sours and other stuff from around Europe.

Thanks, I figured it would be a long shot finding it there. I'm sure there is plenty to offer anyway.

Anything that you had there that you were very fond of? And can you buy bottles to go?

Was in Da Aldo on July 6th ( my silver wedding anniversary), they had no Cantillon.

Will be in Venice starting tomorrow for a few days and have read the previous threads on the city. However I didn't see anything about stores specifically; does anyone know a spot (aside from Aldo) to take away some good bottles for hotel enjoyment?

    A
A small hand full of wine shops that also have maybe 5 beers each, nothing all that special. Drink a beer or two at Da Aldo then Buy to go, while a bit spendy depending on the bottle, fantastic selection.

Not sure if Aldo changed their name, but the shop I've found all the nice beers at is now called Birre da Tutto il Mondo. Nice bottle selection and right next door to Bierreria Zanon. Da Aldo just brought me to a rustic Italian Restaurant (which had fantastic Lobster Scampi).

    It's not Cantillion, it's Cantillon

Yes, this is the same spot. As I understood it Da Aldo is the local Name for the bar. I didn't care much for Zanon but it is a good reference point and still worth a visit for people that like beer and bars. So many great small restaurants and businesses in Venice.

If anyone viewing this thread hits up Venice and Florence, for reference, go to Diorama in Florence. Had five different types of Cantillon available for on site or to go. Kriek was the only fruited one when I went. Also had a variety of Tilquin.
