From their Facebook page: December 5th will make it "official", but you can come belly up during our normal taproom hours until then. Come see us!

Can anyone confirm I can go to Lakes & Legends during their normal hours? I can't find anything about them actually being open or s number to call. I wanted to stop by tonight if possible.

Really excited to see how Lakes and Legend's is, hope it's not just Belgium inspired beers with an overwhelming amount of the spicy Belgian yeast.

Hit up Lakes and Legends tonight (and Market BBQ). The saison is pretty damn good (that's the only one I had). They got a saison, a wit, a stout, and a golden strong ale on. I kinda like that they don't have a generic PA or IPA. Figured their first brew would be a "Belgium style" IPA.

I had a flight with all four. I really liked the wit, which is unusual because I'm not a big fan of the style. I got to 10K last week, Able Seed House yesterday, and L&L today. Of the three, L&L was hands down my favorite. (Followed by 10K; was not impressed with Able although they have a nice space.) Assuming of course I'm in the mood for something Belgian, not generally my go-tos.

L&L had a great space with a rustic feel. Think upscale resort cabin. Complete with some wooden beach furniture one section. I liked the vibe. (Some loud-ish guy wandered in off LaSalle with wife and teenager in tow, asked the staff a few questions, then looked around and asked "So when do you put in the large screen TVs?". Um, no large screen TVs coming. Which some of us consider a good thing).

This is great to hear. We're in need of another solid brewery in the uptown area. I'm getting real tired of Lynlake.

An update on Bryn Mawr* Brewing for those that are not on the email list.

Also, I'm hearing rumblings of a brewery plan for Hastings, MN. Apparently it's called Spiral Brewing (my guess would be a tribute to the old spiral bridge). No other info at this time, other than I've been told they will meet with potential investors and community members soon to discuss their plans. @Chaz or anyone else heard of this yet? I can't find any information online nor on this thread about a potential brewery in Hastings.

I've asked this before but didn't get much of a response so I'll ask this again. Is anyone else getting these Bryn Mawr/Utepils e-mails but doesn't remember signing up for them? I'm fairly convinced they just took the Vine Park distribution list as their own to start with their solicitations but would like for a few other folks to help confirm this theory.

I looked through my email history and I do have an email with the subject line "BrynMawr Brewery Thanks You. Do Not Forget to Utepils!" which I can only assume is the auto-generated email when I signed up through their website. So, at least for me, I signed up for email notifications knowingly. Can't speak for you or the rest of us.

Had dinner at the Burnsville India Palace last night and asked the server when Nutmeg would be opening. He said that it would be open within a week. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Update on Spiral Brewery. They had a meeting with potential investors and community members in Hastings, MN last night. They discussed their brewery plans, talked about their team, and had samples on hand. They had a Pumpkin Saison and a Kolsch, both of which were pretty good.

Current plan and projections have them opening in November/December of 2016.

They are still working on a location, in the Great Rivers Landing building near the waterfront. They plan on starting out with a 15 bbl system (800 bbl in year 1, 2000 bbl by year 3) with plans for expansion to a larger production facility down the road, and adding a canning/bottling line by year 3. They'll operate as a production brewery, and won't serve food, but will have partnerships with local eateries and allow outside food in the taproom.

The team is currently comprised of all Gustavus graduates. The brewmaster has 10 years of experience (homebrew and commercial, although I don't know where). I didn't catch his name, though.

No Facebook page or website yet (although they have purchased the domain name so I suspect a website is coming). They do have a Twitter account to keep an eye on. They also have a logo.

They'll also be launching a Kickstarter campaign this winter, so keep an eye out for that.

This will help fill a huge brewery-void in the South East metro.

I was aware of a Hastings plan and Spiral independently of that, so it's good to place a name with a location -- unless there are two Hastings plans! :grimacing:

There are a few plans for Duluth area, including this one:
I don't see updates on corresponding to this on Dave's social media, but if Brewers Association says he's a member in planning stage, well, that's good enough for me. And it oughtn't surprise those who've enjoyed his work over the years.
