I'd solve the gym sneaks with jeans problem before diving too deep into this.

I own a couple of brewery shirts because I thought it was cool, hardly wear them now. Not interested in buying more, would rather buy beer.

I love wearing beer shirts and don't care if it's becoming "trendy" or whatever. Just another way to show support for a brewery I like. I'd say nearly half my shirts are brewery related, the other half metal bands, with some other random stuff. Plain shirts are boring

Logo branding? I don't shop in the children's section. Also, tags are quite a stretch, seeing as nobody can see them.

A better comparison would be that the guy wearing a Hill Farmstead t-shirt is no better than the guy wearing a Coors Light tank top.

I'm an oxymoron with two legs. While I do believe that wearing breweries' labels is a walking advertisement and they should probably be free (particularly to me:grinning:), I am also a bit of a merch *****. I am selective, but I currently own about 20 brewery/beer related shirts, some pullovers, a few hats, bottle openers, and I've trimmed the glass collection down to about 32.
Friends that have known me for years say my formal wear is the following: brewery shirt, shorts, & hiking boots.

I have a few cool shirts I picked up 20 years ago. They come out on special ocassions...pitiful huh.

I like to pick up something at many of my brewery visits, especially the ones I really like. I've got shirts, hats, glasses, tin bar signs, hoodies, coffee mugs, sticker (for the beer fridge), etc. Often it's just something I enjoy looking at for years to come and remembering the trip that went along with the visit.

Having said that^^^ I'm not that much into coordinating shirts AND hats.

But yeah, I don't go to breweries expecting to see people that know how to dress properly. And I don't really care because I don't go to breweries to see people that know how to dress properly.

I see where there coordinated outfit is a bit much, but there's nothing wrong with a t-shirt. I always check them out when visiting a new brewery. I love a nicely designed t-shirt, be it a brewery, a band or whatever. A hat is fine, but wear one or the other at a given time. Brewer shirt is too much. Next thing is gonna be "has glassware gone too far?" Nope.

Actually, I don't see beer-related apparel all too often at all. I don't own any brewery t-shirts, but if I did, I'd likely be buying it for the same reason as I'd buy a band's t-shirt at a concert.

As for seeing people where this stuff at a brewery, that makes sense...it would probably be one of the only occasions I'd wear it.

I only wear beer hats that are limited release (i.e. under 500 hat count) or top 50 brewery hats. Hatz bro.

I have an amusing example of this going badly, I was at a brewpub drinking at the bar with a couple of friends and there was a guy a few bar stools down leaning against the bar, wearing the work shirt and trucker hat that the brewery sells.

Everybody was drinking and carrying on as people are want to do in bars, when a random dude walks up to work shirt dude and starts asking questions about beer (which the guy was happy to answer, if you're wearing a brewpub shirt, you're enough of a beer geek to probably know the answer) then orders another beer. They go back and forth on whether the guy actually works at the brewpub (the guy's buddies are being jackasses and saying he works for the brewery). Fun continues until they start yelling at each other and they both get thrown out.

This story has a good epilogue though, my buddies and I left this brewpub and decided to go hit another bar down the street, random brewpub dude and brewpub work shirt guy were at the next bar drinking beers and laughing it up. I guess they realized they were both jackasses when they got thrown out and became friends or something.

I have no problem with it... in general.
most of my t-shirts are either band / music related, or beer related, with a smattering of ones from various run / bike events I've done.
I don't generally get "dressed up" to go to a bar or brewery, but I have a rotation of ones I'll wear to fests and so forth - not brewery specific, but beer related in one way or another.
it doesn;'t really bug me too much when people wear them out, though I've watched a few people get mistaken for an employee when they are "that guy" wearing the shirt of the brewery when they go to the brewery. Don't be that guy...
