Has wearing beer apparel gone too far?

I have a ton of beer shirts. I used to do the Old Chicago Mini-tours so I have ~5 shirts from that. I also have shirts from a local place in Loveland, Grimm Brothers. I have 4 brewery T-shirts. So I guess in total I have close to 10. I wear a lot of them on a regular basis. I don't wear T-shirts to pimp my sports teams. I used to wear a lot of band shirts.

I have a white Corona T with yellow pits and a yellow Miller Lite volleyball T that's barely hanging on, collar about to go.

My "craft beer" shirts (Blue Mountain, O Connor, Smartmouth) are all in a bit better shape

I am guessing that the majority of you who are saying that you "don't advertise for free" happily signed up for a Facebook or Gmail account, only to have your information sold to the highest bidder so that you could be used for advertisements every day. But hey, you got a free email account out of it...........

My thought is that there is no problem at all with tossing $15-20 towards something that you want to support. Wear it with pride!

Dude I totally saw this guy the other day he was, like, wearing a Lagunitas ipa shirt with a hop Hunter hat! Hello - fashion police.

I just read this entire thread and find it funny that grown men are complaining about what other men are wearing. I am a t-shirt kind of girl and have several brewery shirts and love them. I don't care what other people think when I wear them and enjoy the conversations that they start. Also I would rather talk to the guy at the bar with a beer or sports shirt than the guy in a polo. Just my two cents. Lighten up people.

I want to apologize to all of you for violating fashion rules.
Sorry...not sorry. I wear my beer gear mostly around the house or when out for coffee... less when I'm out for beer. But yeah, I admittedly own too much merch from Half Acre. My judgment is terrible after too many Space IPAs.... sue me.

One of the most ridiculous threads I've seen.

Clothes are clothes, fashion is fashion. If people like the design, great. Why do you care so much about what other people are wearing? Many posts on here sounds like you're a bunch of scrooges. "I'm not giving you free advertising... etc." Good god people. Lighten up. I surely hope you don't own a single piece of clothing with a logo on it.

Ha, it's going to be a Half Acre xmas for my out of state family. At least they can say they got it for free when they get busted for wearing it out.

I work for a beer and wine distributor, more focused on fine wine. So my winery shirt count is probably up to 25+ compared to a few brewery shirts. I have never bought a shirt from brewery though. I think you don't see as many winery shirts because I'm assuming it's very expensive to visit and tour a winery maybe? Different crowd of people as well.

I've got a few hats and t shirts but usually don't wear them to beer events. Maybe that's weird...???

I don't notice this in Connecticut. Not in NY either. I think people here make a conscious effort to not wear brewery gear. However, if they have a Tree House or Hill Farmstead growler they sure do swing it around, label side showing, while getting growler fills. As a side note, I would much rather see brewery gear that Pats and Red Sox hats and shirts. Now you will please have to excuse me. I have to sew this Iron Maiden back patch on my jean jacket. Cheers, all!

Band shirts, brewery shirts... definitely wear them. I have no problem with pimping a product that I support. The caveat is that it has to be a band or a brewery that I *really really* like. Don't give a fuck about team sports, but if I did I'd wear my favorite team's shirts for the same reason (to show support/love).

I have a bunch of Jägermeister shirts. Liquor-store premiums, most of them.

The only merch I own are glasses. And i've rarely seen brewery shirts that i'd even wear. I am picky about graphics. Hats I never wear, so those are out the window too.

I've really never cared about letting people know what I like, be it beer or anything else. I am all about free clothes though, so if anybody wants to send me logo items for free, I'll ***** myself out as a billboard

I've bought a bunch of brewery shirts that I don't wear. The problem is that they're size Medium - which is, ironically, the size I could be if I stopped drinking so much beer.

Oh I'm far from a fashionista! I mostly wear polo shirts or long sleeve button-ups.

I'm an engineer, so it's kinda part of our "uniform."

It seems like every time I go to a release, more than half the guys in line have a brewery shirt on. It think it's a bit silly but to each his own. The guy in me refuses to care much about what another guy is wearing.

Got it. I'm not a polo guy but I do wear button-ups pretty frequently - though they err on the side of casual and typically have a t-shirt under them.
