Has wearing beer apparel gone too far?

    Exactly what he said. If I visit a brewery and like it, I usually buy a t-shirt, and I've visited a lot of breweries. So, if it's a t-shirt wearing kind of day, it's a beer t-shirt day. In the winter, I throw a flannel over my beer t-shirt. I'm obviously not hip to the latest fashion trends, nor do I care. If you're that worried about what other guys are wearing, you've got too much time on your hands.

    I truly don't give one tiny schitt about what other people wear but I do get a chuckle out of it from time to time. Go to any beer gathering/festival of more than 50 people and -- in addition to countless random brewery T-shirts -- there typically will be:
    * One dude in a utility kilt;
    * At least one person wearing Vibram FiveFingers;
    * One couple wearing matching brewery gear; and
    * At least one cat rocking the matchy-matchy brewery-logo hat/work-shirt combo.

    It is what it is.

    I'm a pretty easy going guy but there is 2 things I hate in this world. Squirrels (yes the animal) and Vibram FiveFingers! I have so much rage seeing/thinking of either.

    I always thought the guys wearing the work type shirts were employees on a sales call. mind = blown

    I kinda get wearing anything more than a t-shirt/sweatshirt makes you almost a "fanboy" but is it really wrong to wear my Russian River shirt that I bought while on vacation in San Fran with pride? I get comments on it all the time and it makes for a good conversation piece with other people who appreciate good beer.

    I wear some, but have never bought any from the source. If I find a cool one at the thrift shop, I'll usually take it home for about $1.99 (Tusker Lager shirt, new with tags). Most I've paid is $9.99 for Sierra Nevada Dickies work shirt, new with tags at the thrift shop. I've more than a few of my shirts start up conversations when out, especially when out of town. Hats, same thing, my two go-tos are a Selkirk Abbey hat and Rothaus hefeweizen cap I brought back from Germany. The Germans were always great for giving away swag, shirts, hats, oven mitts, glasses, etc when you bought a case.

    I have a few hats that I cycle through my rotation. Don't own any brewery or beer specific shirts, though.

    I wear my Alchemist work shirt and especially at concerts people always comment and want to talk beer. People dig the shirt, I like the shirt. And it reminds me of the old Waterbury cannery I could visit and say hi to the gang.

    Of course I can. I'm not sure why you care so much. Lighten up and worry about yourself.

    I agree, if it's the only thing that's clean, then please wear it proudly.

    Personally don't like simple brand shirts, I want my shirt to say something interesting, or be completely blank. I mostly don't care what other people wear though, or even if they wear anything. But, I do appreciate am awesome shirt like this one I saw online.

    I buy and wear brewery t-shirts all the time. It just kind of reminds me of my visit to the brewery and the good time that I had there.

    Hat and shirt combo? Probably wouldn't do that, but it really doesn't bother me either. Don't really understand the "I don't advertise for anyone for free" stuff. I have never purchased anything and thought to myself, "This will really help this company advertise". That's silly.

    I dunno, I don't have any brewery shirts, hats etc...but I don't have anything against it. How about brewery tattoos? Or get your favorite brewer's likeness tattooed on your back and proudly show it off. I bet there's already a thread on that somewhere. That's a commitment, or committable.

    If it's a small brewpub or craft beer bar (not a chain) I will buy a t-shirt. I don't buy brewery t-shirts but will gladly take one for free.

    Is this any different than wearing a t-shirt of your favorite sports team? It's just advertising in the end.

    Anyone else find it rude to wear a shirt from one brewery to another brewery???

    I thought it was obvious that a lot of craft beer drinkers had been searching for an identity for their entire lifetime, and thinking they may have found it, have fully embraced it.

    I have about 4 the shirts from different breweries. They are all stylish and fit well, good summer gear. I see no issues with it whatsoever.
