Dont hold your breath Dick Yuengling doesnt want it to be a mess of hops.I could see it being along the lines of Brooklyn Lager or similar. Dont think it will be as much as Tupper Hop Pils or anything similar.

Well since its an American Pale Lager with 60 IBUs rather than 45 it won't be all that much like Tupper Pils.

Just picked up a 12pk of this brew and I was more than pleasantly surprised. It is really tasty. Not mind blowing but for the price, this is a decent beer. Keep an open mind BAers...give your opinion after trying a beer. Don't rate it, taste unknown. Worth a try.

I drank a shit ton of Yuengling in my formative years. Going to Penn State only added to the cause. That said, I wouldn't buy a sixer of their IPL. If I can purchase a single, I'm down.

If its better than guinness ipa, it wins in my book. It was ok. But that beer tastes like salami.

I'll know shortly as I've got a few cooling in the fridge for either tomorrow or Monday night.

I went to college not that far from the brewery so drank my fair share of Yuengling. Also drank my fair share of Stegmeier (are they still around?). I still drink Yuenglings from time to time. I am willing to try their IPL especially if I can buy it by the bottle or as a 32 ounce growler fill.

I picked up a six-pack yesterday for football. At $6.99 it was hard to pass up as I've been wanting to try it. Honestly, to me, it just tastes like a more hoppy version of Lager. Drinks really easily, but definitely finishes with that signature Yuengling flavor I get out of Lager. I definitely enjoy it more than Lager, so I could see myself reaching for this every once in a while when it is advantageous.

Had one yesterday. I am into double IPAs, but this was a decent brew. And for around 22 a case it's a deal.

Yep, Steg is still around. Believe it or not they actually put out a solid DIPA recently (Grand Hoppa). I'll def give Yeungling IPL a shot.

I will definitely try it if I can find it in Richmond VA.

Drinking one right now. This is easily the best beer Yuengling currently makes and it's a really good India Pale Lager to boot. It's got a nice amount of hops, more than you would expect from Yuengling. And for the price of a six pack, it's definitely worth a try. I know I wasn't disappointed. Way to go Yuengling.

I'm from PA and it looks like I'll have to wait until I go home for Thanksgiving to try this. We haven't seen it up here yet and everyone posting is in PA.

If you like pumpkin beers, Steg's pumpkin ale is pretty good too.

Not sure if you had Straub in your college days, but that's another classic PA brewery that's still kicking and they are making some surprisingly good seasonal craft beers now. I'd choose Straub's hefeweizen over most US breweries and even over some German breweries.

I had a few of these over the weekend at a cookout after the Rutgers-Nebraska game (ugh). It's a good beer. The core of the beer is definitely distinctively Yuengling. I was pretty happy with the hop character on the palate, though I think it could be amped up a little bit on the nose. For $6.49 a six-pack, it's a really solid deal.

I did drink Straub but forgot it was a PA beer. I am going to try the Steg Grand Hoppa assuming I can find it in my area. I was looking for some old paperwork in the back of the closet and ran across this old empty Steg beer case (now a graveyard for old tax returns). I thought I would send it to see if they have changed their design.

I had my expectations pretty low. Boy was I wrong. I love this brew, the price helps but it is solid either way. My favorite part is the malt complexity... Grainy two row, saltine, hints of a victory like nuttiness. Sticky pine and tropical fruit hops. Crisp enough to make my mouth water and wanting more. This IPL can hang with the best of 'em.

So far I've only found sixers which stinks. Winn Dixie had 12's on sale for $11 of all other yuengling varieties. If they had IPL at that price I would fill a cart.

I dont think there's anything to complain about with this beer. Its plenty hoppy enough and flavorful for what it is and who made it.

Yuengling (yes, Yuengling) hit this one out of the park. Bought a six-pack on Saturday, bought another two days later. This may be a home run for them.

Are we talking about Yuengling IPL? I had one on draft the other weekend and I got none of this piney, tropical fruit hop flavor you're describing. All I got was a simple lingering bitterness which made me instantly regret buying it....didn't even want to finish my pint.

Had one, have no desire to have another.
